We looked like what we are, a team that’s sold two of our best players and significantly weakened the team.

For the first game it was just fine.

We sold ESR, which is hard to take, but I figure that was because of the great strides by Nwaneri - ESR hardly played last season so I am unclear how it “weakened” the team.
I have NO IDEA who the other “best player” could be! 🤷🏻‍♂️

By “we” I mean Wolves.

All the players are a little behind. Saliba kept on giving the ball away and Partey was running on fumes in the second half. Rice was mostly anonymous. Heat didn't help.

On the bright side, Havertz has everything apart from finishing. Saka is usually the best player against most opposition, even at 80%!

Havertz and Saka happened to score

Havertz and Saka were miles better than all the players on both sides.

OK, fair enough, but this is an Arsenal board so it wasn’t so obvious. 😎

I agree that Havertz played well overall & got his head on a sublime cross from Saka - but his inability in front of goal in general is a huge problem for a striker.

I really thought he would improve but just like last season any opportunity where he has time to think about it there’s no self-belief at all. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah his feet are very slow which is a huge problem for a striker in tight spaces marked by 2 or 3. I think we have to accpet it. 15-20 goals instead of 20-25.

Liverpool managed it with Mane and Salah. Though Saka (22) is not quite at Salah's level in those seasons he is already getting close. The problem is Martinelli. I think we need a Nico Williams calibre if Arteta is going to stick with Havertz. Unless Marti can step up we will need to buy!
