We should always be pushing for Top4 tbh.
Realistically whilst pep is at city, and even arteta at arsenal you can forget about a title push. We don't shop in the same market as teams pushing for the title, our policy is about buying the next best thing and ensuring we don't waste so much money on flops like we have in recent years.
If we get LB and LCB cover in then top 4 - maybe. If not then I think it's top 7.
I say that because I expect Newcastle and west ham to have good season, but villa to drop off. United look better and have quality in depth and Chelsea are a complete unknown.
Our openness and the back with two full backs coming inside will always kill us against the best teams and tactically aware managers and the set piece situation is awful, hope solanke can help with that, the way kane did.
It's a good question to ask Sizzle and it's good to have documented people's expectations as some like to flip flop and rewrite history during the season.
Last season I expect most would have said top 6, more entertaining, attacking football and a decent cup run. The latter did not come to pass but the rest did.
I expect us to be challenging top 4 with the current squad and potentially 3rd if we strengthen a bit more.
United and NUFC will do better this season. May be also Chelsea but I expect a bit of a drop off from Liverpool. So I think it's pretty open from 3rd to 8th with all those teams, us and Villa, sharing similar realistic aims.
With our squad I'd again hope for a decent cup run or 2 and especially in Europe, which I'm excited about.

Right, I’m going for a documented 5th place finish.

And the cup competitions?

No chance.
Another potless season.
Only based on last season and the preseason though.
I mean, the only player who is first team is Solanke.
We are going to have a good patch this season I’m sure but I think we will come up short.

Morning Sizz
Looking forward the season and as others have mentioned, any kind of progress would be great. The reality is that this might be the most competitive PL we have had in years. While only City, Arsenal & Liverpool are in contention for the title, Spurs, United, Newcastle, Villa, West ham & Chelsea all look like they have strengthened over the summer.
I think Ange faces the biggest challenge of anyone at Spurs this year. Yes, we all know he loves attacking football but there needs to be a balance and that means it all comes down to how he sets us up to play and finding the right balance in midfield. I don't think anyone would argue that in Vic, Porro, Cuti, VDV and Udogie, spurs have 5 defensive players that would get in most teams (Ex Arsenal & City, Esp at CB). Up front we all know Son, and Solanke can score goals in the PL and the Likes of Madders, Kulu and BJ are more than capable of creating chances SO......how
do we find the balance in the middle that allows us to press, win the ball in good areas, without leaving what is a very good back 4 brutally exposed (we cant keep relying on VDVs pace to get us out of trouble)
I think we all agree than PEH wasn't the answer, Sarr and Biss are talented but inconsistent and perhaps Madders is a bit too flash and when the creative stuff doesn't come off & he leaves us exposed ??
I have no idea how it might work but despite their ages I have a feeling we are gonna see a lot more of Bergvall & Gray in MF this season that most of us are expecting..... From what I have seen of Bergvall so far (only pre season I know) he plays with a maturity way beyond his years and not only looks like a fantastic talent but physically looks capable to handle the demands of the PL.
To answer your question..... I think we will finish 5th but will win a cup (no clue which one) but I think this will be the season where by the end we'll all be talking about the Likes Bergvall, Sarr, Gray, Moore, BJ, Udogie, VDV, Solanke, Wilson, Porro, Spence as our young core for the next few years
It feels like the Kane, Son, Kulu, PEH etc era is coming to an end.
I think this is the year to be patient BUT Ange has to get it right.. He has the talent, has the players, he now has to find the balance to play the high energy game he wants but also be smart enough to play for a win.... Thats how the club moves forwards
Everyone going to improve and find it easy this season
We won't and we'll find it incredibly hard
I just want to win the europa league and imo should be our main objective
Most likely be in the mix for fourth but fall short I feel.
I know we say it every season, but going deep in a cup competition and we are desperate to win summat. But it's getting harder and harder to do that.

My hopes and expectations differ slightly. The hope is that Solanke works out and Bergvall and Gray quickly find their feet, despite their young age, and improve our first 11. Then we can hopefully go far in the cups, particularly Europa, and challenge for top 4.
My expectation is, only Solanke will really be a first 11 starter, we'll continue to play this pedestrian version of Angeball that we played in the 2nd half of last season and subsequently get countered to death. If set pieces do not improve either then I reckon we will finish 5th or 6th and get nowhere near the cups again.

Remember when Ollie Skipp was the best player in The Championship?
Hate to break it to you but he wasn't even in the team of the year in the championship that season.
