Well this has somewhat split the fan base but it will be interesting to hear the chants on Friday night.
I think it might go from “Giorginio” with love to “Giorginio f- off”.
Having slept on it I do think Brighton have a lot to answer for - not only for that video but also for the way they have run this transfer from the start and also taken five days to get it sorted. What takes so long?
Our owners have to take responsibility as well. If they really wanted to keep him then they should have sorted a new contract earlier and if he declined it then they could have let the fans know. That way they would have been somewhat exonerated in all this.
The good thing is that we get £40m (I’ve read £42m but not sure that’s true) for a player many thought wasn’t worth the money we paid back in his first season. After amortisation I’ve read he’s probably about £17m on the books - a fantastic profit in reality.
Now we need to spend some of it pretty damn fast or this season will be another one where we are rebuilding for next season - rinse and repeat?
On to Friday and three points with hopefully a couple of de ent players having joined us.

So, you're agreeing with me now on we should have offered him a new contract. Should have been doing that in Nov last year, to tie him down get rid of that clause.
Brighton apparently made a number of offers so we knew full well this was going to happen, yet appear to have done little, if anything to prepare for life after er Rutter.
Leeds specifically put clause date in there to give them time to replace before window closes, well let's see how that works out for them.
As for rebuilding next season its not rinse and repeat. Every season we have a weaker team having sold players off and have less money available, parachute payments reduce and soon will end.
Ashamed? Should we have been ashamed when we did a similar thing announcing a player (Raphinha I think?) with a fish and chips reference. Lighten up.
If you're going to be angry, direct it at how we've been managed as a club for the past few years, and not at Brighton and Rutter.

I am agreeing to a point but unfortunately we don’t know exactly what has happened and never will.
My real take on it all is that our owners were very willing to take £40m for him but after selling both Gray and Summerville they panicked when they received the offer from Brighton. I think they thought they had got away with it to be honest.
Had he been sold early in the window we might still have Gray. Unfortunately that never happened. However we can’t blame everything on the club because they have no say in which team offers what and when for our players.
We have to look forward now though.
As I've said before (and I'm sure I'll say again!), Marathe has f@cked up big time. It was obvious to most that we'd receive offers for Summerville and Rutter but the guy panicked and unnecessarily sold our biggest jewel, aka Archie Gray with over a month of the transfer window left. He's thereby confirmed himself as being just as incompetent as the last couple of owners. We continue to be a joke club.

Some years ago our heirarchy at the time on transfer deadline day after a typically disappointing lack of activity got all the Leeds fans hopes raised of a marquee signing by posting on social media, "Don't go to bed just yet" implying we were about to hear some exciting news but it was all pie in the sky false dawn bollllux as usual and ever since that quote has followed Leeds as a
mickey take and like "Leeds are falling apart again" used by rival clubs to undermine our club and also by are own fans tbf as gallows humour to take the mick out of our owners when we sense like now they are all talk and no action.
So Rutter having that saying as part of his Brighton welcome video is seen as poking fun at the club who's fans adored him and it's questionable whether Brighton have set him up unknowingly as a bit of mischievous banter or whether Rutter was aware of the true implications of that don't go to bed just yet quote...only he knows but a lot of supporters see it as betrayal while some aren't that bothered as Leeds have in the past dished it out in similar circumstances so it's just harmless banter and we shouldn't take it to heart.
So Rutter having that saying as part of his Brighton welcome video is seen as poking fun at the club who's fans adored him
------
Everytime I see this sort of sentiment posted all it does is remind me of being at the Spurs game when we got relegated and Rutter after the game walking over to the fans to hand a kid his top and the kid throwing it back in his face and the crowd cheering and laughing at him.

One thing Rutter does have at 22 years of age is a huge fee hanging over his head.
Will he hit the ground running? If not then expect the Brighton fans to question (like we did in his PL season) wether he’s worth the huge sum they have paid for him.
There is also no hiding place in the PL. He will be watched like a hawk and on TV every time he plays, wether it be live or on MOTD. The pundits will soon pull him to bits if he doesn’t perform.
Good luck to him though. I hope he enjoys the huge crowds and the brilliant atmosphere 😏

Those reports were BS.
Here's a video of the "incident" -- he throws his shirt to a kid and somebody else throws another shirt to him (to sign presumably) but he's already turned away.

It annoys me when fake news gets spread around, especially when it's aimed at undermining our supporters.

Those reports were BS.
Here's a video of the "incident" -- he throws his shirt to a kid and somebody else throws another shirt to him (to sign presumably) but he's already turned away.

It annoys me when fake news gets spread around, especially when it's aimed at undermining our supporters.
