The young lad looked shocked, bit OTT from the keeper

It was cringe

Poor Bergvall on his debut, gets a rollicking when he didnt do much wrong really

I'm not sure how much Vic would have been aware of Romero's mistake, he was focused on the ball coming in from the other side, whereas with Bergvall's mistake it could clearly be seen by him.

I did find it harsh since he tried to atone for his error and he was playing well other than that moment. To call it bullying is a bit of a stretch but an overreaction, probably.

The reason I suggested bullying is that I've never seen him do that before and then he does that to someone who won't fight back. I really wish he'd told him to do one and why don't you grow a pair on corners.

Glad to see I'm not an outlier and the general consensus of this, admittedly limited, site is Vicario was wrong.

Something that also came across when Bergvall lost the ball was his lack of options. Agree he was boxed in but prior to that there was no one available for him to pass to. Noticed the same a couple of times during the game.

I don’t think he’s wrong in telling Bergvall off but if you do that as a Gk then you need to be consistent and do it with all your teammates

Quite embarrasing for both of them.

I reckon Vicario being thought of as a caant will linger in the memory more than Bergvall's mistake in the minds of neutral fans.

Yep spot on , we seen plenty of mistakes and worse ones from senior players but never the same reaction.

posted on 21/8/24

Perhaps he should learn to stop flapping at corners before he starts b0llocking kids on their debut

posted on 21/8/24

and he himself is prone to mistakes and needs to look at himself

Ive seen him do it before. Can't remember when or who to, but it was also way over the top and uncalled for.

I'm sure it was done in the heat of the moment, but not great I know.

He's a Premier League player and should be treated like one, the league is unforgiving and situations like that will only make him stronger.

Also, I've seen Vicario give loads of bollockings to more senior players before. To say he should look at himself before doing so is a weird mentality

Yeah it’s done.

This stuff gets sorted out in the dressing room after.

It says a lot about modern day football for a rollicking from the keeper to be considered bullying.

Did the OP every see Man Us Schemiechel in the 1990s?! He absolutely took no prisoners and guess what?....they were perenial winners.

We have long said that our players are too weak and that there's no leadership, then we complain when a player shows leadership!

Bergvall is a quality young player and his progress won't be stymied by the rollicking he got on Monday night. Quite the opposite.

posted on 21/8/24

Vicario has done this loads he hates when we have a 2v1 defensively in a wide area and the opposition still gets a shot away, he gestures ✌️☝️ afterwards

if anything it's a good sign that Vicario doesn't feel like he has to wrap Bergvall in bubble wrap and can already treat him like a senior player

fuss about nothing

posted on 21/8/24

But what about poor Bergvall's feelings, and his right not to be emotional abused? His identity is as a player who frequently makes mistakes on and off the field.

Yeah except it’s full of far right blowhards and conspiracy theory loons.

Funny how nobody gave a $hit about “two trier pollicing” until a bunch of white feral racists got nicked and banged up.

F*ck em.

Vicario is not top keeper imo anyway. He has the air of vulnerability on corners and setpieces.

A whacko waiting to fail.

Apparently he has been given "extra" responsibities by Ange and must have felt the need to abuse it

I prefer Bergvall to him as a player. We don't players who are afriad to take risks, like BJ or Davies.
