Trust the process cries in the summer. There is no process.
We will finish outside the top 4 yet again. 6th at very best.
When Ole was finishing 2nd and 3rd people said it wasn't good enough because of what we spent. We have spent £500m to finish even lower. đ
He should have been sacked. No Utd manager should be able to survive 8th place and 19 defeats.

We just need to put another one game unbeaten run together
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wooaah calm down there Franko with that crazy talk. We need to start much smaller
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair we've only lost one half this season.

OK. These are just the same words that you've been repeating for the last 6 months though. Do you actually have interesting or insightful to say, aside from being angry at any United fan who tries to give a bit of a balanced and reasoned account of how the game went?
Thought Utd looked good today in their press and some good moves out from the back.
Seemed to lose a bit of that press and threat without Mount.
Defence was a shambles for the goals. If that happens very occasionally then it's one of those things . If you think it's happening more often then the finger needs pointing at someone.
It's season 3 now and we still aren't defending properly. We still struggle to control the midfield and we have scored 2 goals in 2 games which is nowhere near good enough.

We already look considerably better defensively than last season. It's very clear that the tactical set up has changed and new ideas are being implemented. We'll know more about how effective these changes will be in a few weeks time.
It's difficult however to account for individual errors (Maguire for the Brighton's first, Rashford's pass to Garnacho at the end of the Fulham game) or a piece of freakishly rare misfortunate such as Garnacho's finish hitting Zirkzee on the goal line.
How many members of this forum start with the result and then work backwards from their to describe the performance? Let's have a show of hands.

Thought we played ok today. Could have gone either way but in the last 10 mins Brighton just seem to want it more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
and this is fundamentally the problem with the culture of this his squad and that today was still lingering from last season.
Lets see if the players are up for Liverpool next week. The manager it seems is still there it seems to chuck under the bus
I feel we are making a little progress, but maybe not as much as what others are making out. I often read how things are better than last season, but I mean, surely that was a minimum requirement. The team just doesn't feel really inspired by ETH, even with the new additions. No doubt the squad has improved, I just hope ETH proves me wrong and really shows he's got what it takes.

Smaller fish.
I was in Manchester last weekend and I was shocked by how many United fans were optimistic for the season ahead and believed ETH was the right man for the job if given time. Then I put on the Overlap and saw Gary Neville and Roy Keane predicting United make top 4 at Liverpool’s expense. Where has this optimism come from? I’d be surprised if you are in the top 6 and if ETH is still in a job by January.

I think at the start of the season most fans are optimistic. Personally, I feel there has to be an amazing turnaround from ETH in terms of his own management skills to be able to get us to where we want to be. I keep hearing about patience and a 3-4 year project. No probs with that, but it's got be the right man for the job, and I'm in a position where I support ETH but don't have true belief in him. So I am just hoping he proves me wrong.
We seem to be getting good players in place, now the question is if we have the right manager.
Of course the next few months will reveal a lot, but true progress for me would result in top 4 and us being able to control games better and be able to win a few games 'at a canter'

The optimism I think has come from performances, signings, the emergence and development of some of the young players and the restructuring above the first team squad operations.
There’s a pretty good feeling across the fanbase right now, certainly compared with where we were the middle of last season.
I don’t think anyone is getting ridiculously carried away. But in many respects we’re moving in the right direction.
