Really pleased we won, but let’s face it… Everton are garbage… & certainties to go down..,
Newcastle away, is a massive test… let’s see how our team copes with that…
Still can’t believe we haven’t bought anyone, to strengthen the left side of defence… with injuries to both VDV & Udogie last season, this really blighted out season… Davies not the answer…
One week to go… to address this problem
Glad we’ve strengthened up front…
Son/Solanke/ Odbert… the front 3 for me…

The real test is upon us now with the coming fixtures. Can we reproduce this against the better teams? Will our defence stay strong under the inevitable pressure faced by those teams? How would the game have gone had Pickford not thrown it away and how much was on Everton being rubbish?
Still many questions but it was a good and much needed win nonetheless. I said last season after the poor form that perhaps we just needed to get to a new season to refresh everything and everyone, to get back playing how we did in those first 10 games. Hopefully that's what's happening.

Just enjoy the win

I did enjoy it, thank you.

But you've moved on quickly <quickly>
Sizzle conspicuous by his absence.....Spurs must have won

What do you want me to do, throw a party?
The season moves quickly. Nothing wrong with looking towards the next set of matches. We did well and I enjoyed it, it was an improvement on the last game and there were a number positives to take. We also can't get carried away because it's just one win against poor opposition.
Newcastle away game will be a real yardstick for us given how much trouble that fixture gave us last season
early signs this season suggest that we want to mix up our build up and be a bit more direct at times, perhaps with high pressing teams like Newcastle in mind. Bissouma averaged 3.6 attempted long passes per 90 last season and he had 10 in 70 minutes yesterday.
Also bringing in personnel like Solanke (6'2" striker who can hold the ball up) and Odobert (who looks to have a really immaculate first touch when the ball is switched to him) further suggests that we want to facilitate more long range passing

Will be a keen observer of the newcastle game today. They seem to have real.threat on the counter with the pace of Isak and Gordon so it wouldn't surprise me if they look to sit a bit deeper and counter us.
Feel like we will need to be more compact but not sure if we do compact.
Their defence can be got at though, especially without Scharr

Indeed. We need to know if it's a case of just being able to bully the weak teams and come up short against the strong teams, like the end of last season, or not. We've only played so far a newly promoted team and an Everton team who have been flirting with relegation for the last 3 years.
There are good signs though that it could be more like the first 10 games than the last 10 games. Maddison looks more up for it than he has for a while. Kulu, Son, Bissouma looked better yesterday. The additions of some good technical players can only help. We get through Newcastle, Arsenal and Man United and find we are still unbeaten then we can start to believe we're back on track.

Nufcs back line didint look up to much...Livramento Burns Kraftt Kelly looked there for the taking.
Joelinton should have seen red, but that's where the battle will be IMO. They're quite a big physical team.
Isiak kept quite quiet, but always a threat, as is Gordon.
