He was garbage for Wolves. It was a strange transfer at the time and even stranger now that Gundogan is back
He's 27 so not young. He's looked out of his depth wherever I've seen him play a few minutes at City and his career numbers don't indicate anything grate. What am I missing?
Oh…. Maybe I’m wrong…. I always thought he he was decent whenever I saw him play for Wolves….Though Barely remember seeing him in a city shirt.
I guess he must be decent for Pep (a far better judge of player than me) to spend that kinda cash on him
Isn't he an awful presser? Which is something I imagine you guys want
On his days he could be great but those days were very few and far between. We were glad to feck him off.
Could be the next Lo Celso
Kalvin Phillips v.2
1+ year sat on a bench. £10m richer, Title medal on his mantle piece.
I don't think players really hit the heights again after this sort of experience.
I'd leave well alone, keep looking for hungry focussed players.
He’s got wonderful technique.

Not good enough alone in this day and age.
Jao Cancelo £21m to Saudi.
Surely worth it and would upgrade our team immediately.
He will be on very good wages no doubt but surely we could afford him?

Anyone willing to go to Saudi has very clear priorities which are not football based.
IMO this is why we should stay away from players like this. Pep didnt want to keep him, Barca didnt, Bayern didnt.
Focussed & hungry !
We need a LCB/LB above all else…
This could be our Achilles heel, if not addressed in the next few days…
Can’t believe that we didn’t go for Lloyd Kelly
We are well stocked in the other areas atm… though not sure about Werner & Johnson…

Got a feeling our backup LB will be Spence this season, unless we find a decent option out there.
You'd imagine that Levy would have been all over Kelly or Tosin, being free, so I'd be surprised if we didnt make a move....which makes me think both players probably fancied more game time, which they are much more likely to get @ CFC and NUFC.

Agree with this
I think our window has been very good so far
I think the starting back 4 is in good shape with Drag, Davies & spence as back up options. The central MF options are decent with Madders, Biss, Kulu, Lolo, Gray, Sarr and Bergvall.
Im happy with the Solanke and Odobert signings with Son & Richie as back up options to play CF.
My only concern remains in the wide areas. The Werrner signing makes no sense to me, I know its only a loan but its squad place on big wages. He's exactly as advertised. BJ worries me a bit, he looks so short of confidence, it feels like everything good he goes almost feels like it by accident.. starting to feel like he's one of those players that might be better as a big player at a smaller club where the pressures are less. No matter how much Ange backs him by giving him minutes, I can't help feeling he's more of an impact sub.
With all that said id love to get rid of Solomon (Leeds by the looks of it) and GLC (Dunno if there are any takers) and get another wide player in, preferably someone young, quick and like to take on a FB (In the mould of Odobert who he could split time with on the right or back up Son on the left.... Maybe Moore is the guy to step up... TBF Ange looks like hes gonna give mins to these young guys !
In short... I don't think we need too much esp if Madders stays fit, Solanke justifies the price tag and Son & Biss can be consistent
I'd agree although the LCB position is a bit of a worry for me. Even without injury VDV will need some rest & rotation, especially if he's gonna keep sprinting up field to assist goals
I think Odobert will be more naturally BJ's competition. He played left as Son had to move inside.
Son/Werner Dom/Richi BJ/Odo/Deki
with Deki also covering Madders @ 10.
I am comfortable with these options. I wonder whether we're trying not to block the path for Mikey Moore to come through....fringe this year gaining valuable experience, challenging Son next season, Son's heir thereafter
I do worry a bit about BJ....he did ok last season but really needs to show more consistency. He continues to hit the defender with his crosses from good positions. His movement has improved but the final ball still needs a lot of work.

Is Moore's best position on the left or right ?
Looks like Chelsea are going after Toney..... Thats insane

Not for me mate, not a fan of Nunes at all. He will be back in Portugal probably even at the end of this window.
We should be aiming much higher than we do.
We should have been all over Osimhen, all over Mamardashvilli.

Almost no one is in for Osimhen. May be crazy Chelsea if they can get some Lukaku trade off thing going, but his wages seem too steep, may be PSG.
That rings alarm bells for me, esp. if they're wanting 100m+ for him.
As for Mamardashvilli, no need for us to success plan for Vicario quite yet, Becker is 5 years older and has just 2 years left on a deal.
I still can't believe we have spent £65m on Solanke.
Especially as it was obvious Toney would be off this season.
Toney is a better player.
