SO bought for zero. 4 years left on his deal.
Lets say Leeds come up this season and Solomon is a success and Leeds are willing to pay £10m like they were for Rodon.
That's £10m in Spurs' bank. A pointless £10m? A free £10m. Is that not a good thing?
Unfortunately for the lad he got injured early in his Spurs career so hasnt been able to make a claim for a spot in the team. I'd guess if we had spent 10-15m on him he'd be getting that chance. As he cost nothing we are able to move on, let him try to recover fitness form and confidence elswhere.
Who knows, he may flourish at Leeds and be our Werner replacement next year or we cash in.
Overall, to call it pointless ignores his unfortunate circumstances and our potential to make some serious free money.
Prob earning around 2m a year in wages. So best to just keep loaning him out every year in the hopes that he secures a transfer elsewhere
Just Reguilon and Lo Celso to go

----------------------------------------------------------------------
6/10 if they go 5/10 if they stay
Was an opportunity, cost us nothing and we either could have got a good option or good money out of him.
Ultimately didn’t get a chance to shine cos of his injury and then his position became our highest priority so the risk didn’t pay off but I’m happy we took it.
I think we should always try these risks, they aren’t too damaging to the club’s strategy and every now and then you can get a Dele or Walker or Rose out of it
Good riddance.
Never should have bought him.

Hey how did you do that? I been trying to post the word man~re on the man utd board for years.
Anyone think that Solomon may actually be better than Johnson( when fit) ??
Not really… Solomon plays off the left
Absolutely pointless signing.
Who knows if it weren't for the injury? Ange was giving him minutes and he looked useful enough.

Well exactly. We took a punt on a free player with a lot of talent and unfortunately for the guy he got a serious injury.
Fair play to the club for moving on decisively, and hopefully we will profit from it in the future.
Far from pointless. His injury meant we had to bring in Werner last season.
If anything, it's Werners current loan deal that seems pointless when Solomon could have been given a chance to establish himself. But j guess missing so much of last season puts him at a big disadvantage and the club would rather look to cash in on him than see this season whether he can fit in.
