I'd take a point right now. They don't lose at home often and usually score for fun (49 goals last season in a poor season).

What is more important to me is to show we have learned, tactically and in execution, to deal with their obvious and biggest threat which is their pace on the counter through Isak and Gordon.

We can still be aggressive, front foot, attacking but there also needs a degree of caution and high energy in the high press to minimise their opportunities to spring counters. Do that and we'll probably get a result because we have the quality to hurt their suspect back 4.

Morning Sizz,

Our first tough game of the league. A point or more and I think we'd all be pretty pleased. A loss starts making us question again how much has really changed from last season, particularly if the manner of the defeat involves conceding a number of goals.

Big win and clean sheet against Everton makes me hopeful we can get something out of this game. Maybe nick a win. 2-1.

Not an opinion i share. Any high press team plays a high line, that is how rhe space is compressed making it possible to close the ball down quickly. City play like this, they are exposed to the counter but they are one of the best teams in recovering the ball and not allowing rhe opposition time and space to expose the space behind the defence. Klopps Liverpool the same.

I think our press becoming less effective contributed to how open we were in the later part of the season.

If you are not playing a high press, then you are dropping off all the time like we did under Conte, and that invites a different sort of.pressure. Ange doesn't play this way so our press needs to be effective. If it isn't, the high line gets exposed.
