Is England's number 2 striker not already a really big name? He was wanted by top PL clubs?
It is likely Salah or De Bruyne will be off there next season after playing big roles for their PL clubs this season.
But I still wouldn't see that as a problem. More of an issue would be someone aged 25 or so who is wanted by top PL clubs and chooses Saudi instead for the money. Like with LIV golf, it becomes more normalised and acceptable.
Like I said, just over a year ago, people were saying there was no chance a player would go there in their prime instead of a top PL club.
It just seems to be so casually underplayed in the media and by fans.
Like no one ever wanted Toney anyway...after the majority of England fans calling for him to start ahead of Kane.
Can't just keep ignoring.
Saudi league wasn’t even the league in the Middle East that got the biggest name player after Osimhen went to Turkey.

FFS I was on a mountain. Why did he go there??
Because he didn’t want to go to Saudi.
Edin's fuming. Daz is in the Nile.
Don't see why people need to get so defensive when just giving a timeline of events.
The fact of the matter is Toney chose some unknown Saudi team over the top PL clubs.
Whether directly or indirectly, as in PL clubs didn't bid for him as they couldn't compete with the Saudis.
Can we not just have a conversation about it instead of getting defensive?
What can be done to stop more people like Toney defecting to Saudi?

Not sure what the point is though? They can't sign everyone. But they can sign some top PL teams' targets. That's more the point.
Felix and De Ligt were hardly in demand by top clubs either. Rather failed at them and they wanted rid.

Nah not having a couple of rejects as that. Haaland probably the last proper big name that chose a PL club.
Someone like Wirtz at the moment would be your man. A few years ago PL clubs would be in for him in a heartbeat.
There probably is a lack of real talent around at the moment anyway as players are all just robots.

I am not shifting the goalposts. Since when were rejects De Ligt and Felix in demand big names? They failed at their clubs and they wanted rid?
It is rather the other way around that the goalposts keep getting shifted each time Saudi sign a big name player.
They go from a world class PL player in their prime to being referred to as over the hill. Just because they have signed for Saudi and people don't want to admit that they were wrong, so keep digging.
I am not sure why so many people get so defensive about it.
Some big name players in their prime that are linked with PL clubs are choosing Saudi instead. Something people a year ago said would never happen.
Outlining that is not meant to cause offence.
Didnt realise you said 'in demand big names' in your original post, must've been in invisible ink. I didn't expect this to wind you up so much.
Let's just go with big names then and I will play the Ronaldo, Benzema and Neymar cards and go all in? How many chips have you got left?
With De Ligt and Felix, you better have bloody Maradona as your third card!

Well after a further goalpost shift, yes I guess if you base football off of instagram followers then that is a fair point (although spanning over multiple windows to suit an argument).
However, I thought your original argument was against the Saudi league signing "over the hill" players.
Ok then I shall just say that I don't consider Felix and De Ligt to be big name players in this context. No further words to be accused of shifting the goalposts.
So what are your thoughts on players that are in demand from PL clubs, going to Saudi whilst still in their prime? Something that people said just over a year ago, would never happen?
Can we have your thoughts on it? Without mentioning me
They are getting a few bigger names interested, who would be considered not past their best. But the vast majority of 'peak players' will be in EPL or various big leagues in Europe.
I don't expect that to signifcantly change.
