Then superstition suggests I am helping, but if we keep getting to these points where if we lose the next game our manager is in trouble, then maybe there is an issue?

If we somehow lose to Coventry then the entire team should be sacked

we could easily play whatever our strongest team is and still lose

other players deserve minutes with the usual crop not pulling up any trees so far this season

13 wins in 32 League games

Ange 20-1 to be next manager out.

If it were not for Everton, could be worth a punt

Everton are currently the worst team in the league though. The only teams we have beaten in the last 11 or whatever it is games are relegation fodder.

Ange is under pressure and rightly so. Other managers have been let go of with better form - AVB, Jose, Conte, Redknapp. Only Poch has had worse form in the period of 32 games with just 12 wins and it got him the sack. This was despite getting to a CL final. Ange at the moment has 13 wins from 32 and isn't doing much to justify holding on to.

More to do with the feeling of despair after a defeat. So, not ruining my weekend may be more accurate, or maybe acceptance would have been a better way of describing my feelings, but fair shout.

That's harsh, I don't really have the sustained history for such an accusation lol

The problem is that if we get rid of Ange, the whole project starts again and blame is pointed in the wrong direction. How many managers are we going to burn through before realising Levy is the problem?

We needed established stars to play the way Jose and Conte wanted to. We didn't get them. We currently need really top players to be able to play the playstation football Ange likes. His tactical set up relies on utter dominance in the same way City's does. In both instances, success can't be achieved without spending money.

I'd rather see is stick with Ange and with every passing loss aim our anger at the boardroom and not the touchline. Sacking Ange gives Levy the perfect shield from any criticism.

It's not Levy's fault our players have suddenly forgot how to cross a ball. It's not Levy's fault we cant defend a set piece. I like Ange but he seems out of his depth.

Levy will go one day (hopefully) but getting rid of him now would change nothing.

posted on 16/9/24

Any half decent coach would get the most out of this squad and get to a position where we then need to kick on. That's where Levy and Enic then fails.

This is why both manager and ownership needs to change.

20-1 is like printing money im on massively.

I think O'neil will be the first to go i do not think Everton can afford to sack dyche. I think they will go into administration.

If we go out to Coventry i think Ange cannot continue as that dumb interview he gave, I ALWAYS WIN in the second season will be replayed everywhere.

Coventry are a dangerous side we see what they did to Yanited last season. We have the hardest draw of all sides in europe who were seeded but we should still beat them obviously a club of our stature.

Same as Spurs then. Spurs have only beaten the club every other club Everton has played this season have done the same.

I expect a win, but it is a massive banana skin, so wouldn't be surprised if Coventry won with Spurs shocking away form.

It is if the reason that they can't do any of those things is because they're simply limited players. What gives you the impression that the players are better than they're currently showing? They might just be shiiiiit.

If you pull out of the Raya deal to go for someone cheaper in Vicario, you might end up with a keeper that flaps at corners and doesn't command the 6 yard box.

If you pull out of the Eze/Neto deal because either the fee or the wages are too much and sign a kid from Burnley a lot cheaper, it's likely that same winger will not be as good at getting crosses in as the latter two.

The point is that the penny pinching is unquestionably contributing to the issues on the field. I'm not absolving Ange of blame but this is an issue that goes beyond the touchline.

If you drastically cut your wage bill, as we're reliably informed was part of Levy's PSR restructuring (via Paul O'Keefe), and it's likely to be cut further, you have to accept that players that aren't paid as well won't perform as well.

Levy is killing our club and all you lot can do is aim your guns at Ange.

I'm not saying our players are incredible but it's not exactly a terrible side is it? They're getting the basics wrong and he doesn't seem that bothered about fixing it. He even said he doesn't see the point in overly practising defending set pieces.

He's not 100% to blame for everything but he's the boss of the players so if we all think the buck stops with Levy over the running of the club, then it stands to reason that the buck stops with Ange when it comes to the results each week.

I wasn't overly surprised we got beat on Sunday, Arsenal are just better than us, no point denying it, but it wasn't a great performance from us.

As for Levy pulling out of deals, were we even in for Eze and Neto? The only place I saw that was on here and that's the equivalent of getting your news from You Tube. Didn't palace even come out and say they were surprised there was no interest from anyone?

I'm all for Levy bashing but rumours and lies seem to get muddled up with the facts a lot on here.

He's the boss of the players he's provided. If they're not all that good, there's only so much he can do. That's my point.

Regarding the potential bigger deals, Neto was 100% on the cards but Levy pulled the plug for whatever reason. O'Keefe is the one person I'd listen to regarding transfers and he said Neto was the one Ange really, really wanted, as well as, admittedly Solanke, who we got. Eze is a bit different because we knew what it would have taken financially to get him so he technically was there if we'd wanted him.

This isn't about smart recruitment as some will have you believe. It was always about cutting costs. If you sign an established Premier League player like Eze or Neto, aside from the fee the wages would sting, there's no doubt about that. That's the part Levy takes issue with. In an age where PSR restricts spending of any kind, lowering your wage bill gives you more wiggle room in the market long term. It's sensible from a business perspective but from a sporting one? No chance. The other option is to go for it, qualify for the CL year on year as Arsenal have done and keep spending to maintain that position. It's the difference between driving in the fast lane with risk and driving slowly in the left hand lane. You're less likely to crash, but you know you're going to get overtaken time and time again.

Two narrow 1-0 losses and two wins in the cup already mate good performance against watford at the weekend. If you look at the other european sides we have the toughest draw.
