The easiest way to keep them is by winning big trophies (and giving them big money).
Saliba would get into any team in the world, and Real are already getting ready to swoop.

👍 Hopefully we win the PL this season. The fact that we didn't spend silly money on wages this summer keeps us in a good position to offer them big wages.
Saliba, in particular, the club deserve a lot of credit for.
Signed him in a tough period for the club where a lot of people would have argued that spending £30m or so on a 19 year old defender who is going to be loaned out straight away is silly and should have been spent on an experienced player who could have come into the team straight away!
Gabriel is the true leader and doesn't get the Saliba type credit.
Best CB pairing in the PL
To think it looked like Gabriel Gabriel was close to signing for Juventus a couple of summers ago.. Unbelievable CB pairing and its so refreshing to go to these big away games knowing we can sit in deep and soak up the pressure. Still remember those Wenger years where the likes of Chelsea and Utd would do it to us, season after season.
Do have a feeling its only a matter of time before Madrid come in for Saliba though.

He was close to going to Saudi last year too. Timbers injury probably kept him here.
how does Saliba only have 2 years left when he signed just last year?

Yep. I think he’s been the better of the two certainly the last 6 months, but maybe a year (but I probably only watch 50%/60% of arsenal games)
As good as they were yesterday it was the Arsenal kid mascot that destroyed Tottenham before KO psychologically, the game was won there and then

I think Saliba’s performances for France show that he is probably the better of the 2 and arguably the best defender in Europe atm.
Gabriel has always been quality and probably my favorite Arsenal player after Saka but he only became an ELITE defender when partnered with Saliba. He has played better than Saliba so far this season but we are only 4 games in…
Saliba is clearly the better player. I feel a bit sorry for Gabs, but it is what it is. if any of the top clubs had their pick out of the two, they'd all choose Saliba.
Defences are all about partnerships, and these 2 blend together very well.

Not debating who is better but Saliba gets alot more praise and Gabriel needs to score a goal to get recognised from an outside view.
I have been saying for the last couple of years that unless we start winning major trophies Saliba will end up at Real Madrid but many didn't want to hear/believe it and insulted me for saying it (mainly on Twitter).
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put two and two together. He goes away on international duty where there is a large contingent of Real Madrid players in the French first team who will be in his ear about what they've won in recent times and encouraging him to join.
Now they are sending scouts to our matches. This isn't even to scout him because they already know how good he is, this is to send a message to him and his agent that they are serious.
As I've said before, unfortunately, this could be the last season we have him at the club unless we win the PL/CL because at the end of this season he will have two years left and I don't see us letting such a valuable young player run into the last year of his contract when Real Madrid will pay big with 2 years to go.
Fingers crossed we finally win something big again this season and / or manage to get him to sign an extension.
Given what Havertz is on Saliba deserves a pay rise anyway.
