Not confident that we will, but I think only a decent run in the Europa League can save him now.

(The domestic cups will clearly never be a priority for the club)

Can’t see him going anytime soon but my god it’s all depressing.

Players, Manager, Owner, Fans all look like they have had enough and we are only 5 games in

Players don’t look convinced at all, BJ in his interview last night “we have been asked to play this way”

It’s when not if.

Ange knows that result didn’t help him one bit last night as Levy couldn’t give a shakey shiete about the cup, get a loss/draw on Saturday and he will be under the gun for the United and Brighton away games.

I thought there was an air of resignation about Ange last night - he looks done to me

Think he gets until Christmas, but hard to see how he will turn things around given he's not going to change anything and we've been figured out.

I thought we'd at least get decent football when we were shiiite under him, but last night was as bad as anything Conte served up.

Didn’t see last nights game as I was working.
Checked the result around midnight and my 1st thought was “well we’ve done better than last season”

Tbh, that’s another reason he’s probably safe for now, I mean who the f*ck is there that’s available?

All we can hope is that it's a sort of kickstart to the team and that we go on a good run now. Poch had 3 points from 4 in his second season. He then went on a nice unbeaten run and won his next 3 games. Difference is we already won big against Everton and that didn't do anything to our form.

There will be no hiding in the next set of fixtures anyway. They are tricky. He'll either turn the form around or get found out and it'll be curtains for him.

Disjointed performance which was inevitable to a degree given the amount of changes made.

IMO there were too many changes to the lineup. It's all very well blooding new players and giving fringe players some game time but to do it all at once was always going to lead to a right mish mash of a performance where no one really knew what they were doing and supposed to be.

Ultimately though, job done, next round.

Thought Spence looked quite good, so that was encouraging. Bergvall looked neat and tidy but really didnt do anything telling with the ball. The ball that Madders played to Deki for the goal is the sort of thing that we need. Quick play, finding players in space, with others running off the ball to link up - encapsulated by the Spence goal. That little bit of quality from Madders & Deki showed what we need to be doing more. It was all too slow and ponderous and safe....which really was like Conte ball, expect played in the opposition half.

I do think that a lack of confidence and the jeopardy of losing the ball and being countered on is impacting our attacking play. The willingness to put the ball at risk seems to have almost gone. Bentancur also very guilty of this, he used to find players between the lines but seems to have lost that ability. It may be the system and it may be slight adaptation of our play, to be a bit more careful in possession, but it doesnt help when we play pacey wingers to be moving the ball slowly.

Overall i think fans need to calm done. I find it quite sad when someone like BJ scores and barely wants to celebrate because he's been abused by his own fans.

Ridiculous that some on here predicting the demise of the manager rather than getting behind him and the team. We got through. In response to me making comments like this season like "we've played pretty well in all our games this season" there have been responses like "its a results game" Well we won, so fans should feckin take that and get behind the team. Half of you seem like you cannot wait until we next fail to start banging your miserable drum!

BJ never said that. It was in fact a very honest interview and there is clear awareness of where we are going wrong, what we need to do to create better chances and that we have failed to execute this in many games this season.

Making up quotes to forward your negative agenda is pathetic thing to do as a fan and sadly you are not alone on here in that regard.

Another one i wouldn't want to be in the trenches with.

The silver lining is brighton will attack us (prob rip us a new one) which means we should have more opportunities to get in behind. Although with their high press its likely we will get caught out.

United also will have to attack us a bit, although we did dominate there last season. So again, hopefully so space in behind.

Brentford will be tough but honestly, on paper home games against bottom half teams should always be 3 points as the target, so we need a win

posted 16 hours, 57 minutes ago

Agree it was sad to see brennan not celebrate because of the abuse hes got. Also end of game son just to push him towards the fans to get his recognition and brennan didn’t want any of it.

Although same time who ever scored shouldn’t really have celebrated much, we were that bad it would have been embarrassing

And he looked completely miserable too, considering he’d just scored an injury time winner.

Thought it was an odd team selection from Ange and possibly made it hard for ourselves.

I have no problem with making changes. No point signing young players if you are not gonna give them a chance in games like last night.

Would have given Austin a chance over Forster... he's done

Would have started Spence at RB and played Gray in MF alongside older heads like Bents & Madders. We could have then brought on Bergvall (hopefully with a lead.

I have no problem taking off Solanke, Imagine 60 Mins was pre-determined given the fact hes coming back from an injury.

I don't like the idea of changing both CBs and a GK given our lack of defensive stability. I thought it was risk we didn't need to take

As for Werner... Just woeful Vs a Championship second string.... Total waste of money (wages)

Glad we are through but Very, Very Lucky

I would imagine Brentford fancy their chances at the weekend... I have no confidence in Ange or this team sadly. Id be more surprised at a comfortable 2-0 win than I would a sloppy 3-1 loss Vs Brentford

i am guilty of wanting a bit too much rotation probably but when you do rotate it needs to be more balanced and the same principals still in place

i think even when the strongest xi currently on paper isnt doing the business, it doesnt help either

really miss Bissouma as a 6 cause dont have another in the squad

Werner and Forster shouldnt be at the club and should start no games

Spence should get more minutes
