Good point but we are now becoming way too reliant on defence away from home.
We literally create nothing in these type of games. Same in Europe last season.

We had a few moments unfortunately they all seemed to fall to Martinelli who can't hit a barn door at the moment.

Last season we had the same issue in Europe.
Not winning these type of games will make it very hard to get top 8.

Martinelli had 2 great chances alone. What game were you watching?
Martinelli should have done better with the chances he had. Hes off form. Has been for a while

Martinelli had two, Havertz shanked a half chance wide and Saka had that deadball situation early on which the goalkeeper saved well. There wasn't many but certainly more than one.
This game was an example that games in the CL are completely different than in the PL.
We played well for the first 20 min but then we were happy to let Bergamo in the game.
Defensively we were good apart from the Partey moment of madness but our midfield and our strikers were woeful.
Still we got a point away which is not bad at Bergamo.

Was it? The pattern was no different to the Villa and Spurs games and we are going to see more of the same this Sunday if Arteta gets his way.
I’ve been saying this since the Porto defeat last season and we have yet to be punished since then but eventually we are going to get punished for these away displays. We are very lucky Raya is in the form of his life at the moment.
Yeah the approach is different. You dont know really what do expect from you opponent as you havent played against them. In the PL there are only fine margins between the big teams that decides.

Agree in general, we were lucky to get the draw but equally if Partey hadn't been so rubbish giving them the penalty then we wouldn't need to feel lucky about getting out of there with a point, other than that it was quite an even game.
Letting Smith-Rowe go though, net profit in the transfer window, ticket prices going up and now with our usual injury crisis, my frustrations turn 100% to the Kroenkes (here we are again) for not having the ambition to make that final push in the summer window to overcome City.
Very strange take. Like every club we have to work within PSR limits and after spending massively over last few windows we were always going to have to address the balance.
ESR barely played, and with Merino in it made little sense to keep him. Even with the current injuries we have a lot of options so he still probably wouldn't play much.

Do you have proof in terms of financial accounts (not just the many club mouth pieces who have been regurgitating similar) that we couldn't do more in this transfer window?
We made a lot of additional revenue from the CL and ended this transfer window with a net profit, I don't believe for a moment we couldn't have done more in the transfer window if the Kroenkes were actually willing to allow that.
ESR is already proving at Fulham what many of us knew. For a talented homegrown player that had saved Arteta's job with a very good season/output and important goals, he should have been kept and was woefully mismanaged. He would absolutely be useful currently with no Odegaard so no creativity and Martinelli useless on the left.
You say: "a lot of options", but not for creativity as is abundantly clear. No goals from open play in 3+ matches now and the eye-test says the same.
It's simply unacceptable for:
Ticket prices which are already the highest in world football to be increased, when we still haven't won a major title in nearly two and a half decades and have never won the CL?
Then to make a net profit in the transfer window when a final push is needed to achieve success after waiting so long and being put through so much s|-|it by the owners.
To leave two major holes in the first team / squad. One being a clinical striker that can actually score in big games. The other being a creative backup to Odegaard when we chose to let ESR go cheap.
For Arteta to come out and insult the fans claiming that these are the: "hungriest owners" he's ever known, was the cherry on the cake.
They want the revenue from maintaining top 4 to make the club cash rich so it can be used as leverage for their various business interests. They have proven once again that they have absolutely no care or shame in mugging off the fans to achieve that and have no real ambitions of actually winning anything at all, if it happens, it's a bonus.
