I was about to defend Solanke with the age argument but there's only a year in it apparently

I think Solanke was the right deal for us in temperament, we wont see any snapchat controversies from him.

I would of liked to see Toney with us someone to proper bully defenders and his all round game is really improving at such a late time in his career. Got a strong shot on him.

We could never afford him our max wages are £150,000

We need to give Solanke time. He'd have very likely already be off the mark by now if he'd played against Everton.

Maybe Toney is the better striker, maybe he isn't, but Solanke still scored 19 goals for Bournemouth last season which is a decent return. If he'd have got the number of pens that Toney had got in his very good PL season, he'd have scored over 20 league goals as well.

We took the gamble on the man who had scored way more goals last season and who is 1 and a half years younger. The money was too much but in terms of strikers to go for, it didn't seem like a bad choice and it may yet prove to be good. He's not going to score as many as Kane but if he can reach the level of say Defoe or Keane when they were in their pomp, I think we'll be pleased.

Weird narrative that Toney is suddenly clearly better now we didn't sign him.

Not weird at all its always been the case hsnt it? Solanke had a gd season when he was banned? Still think toney is better.

Think spurs made the right choice tho, Toney has been underpaid his entire career was on pennies at brentford for a player of his ability. Think hes happy with a big pay to end on. Solanke is hungrier for more than just money at this point so imo prob makes him the right choice. If it was one.

Solanke is a more complete player than Toney. He also isn’t an absolute cvnt like Toney so you’ve got a far better attitude there.

Can’t believe Spurs fans are writing off Solanke so quickly, pathetic.

I've dropped him out of FF...was excellent last year...with decent players around him..can't understand what's gone wrong

Solanke has 1 good goal scoring PL season under his belt at age 27, but there is more to his game than just goals, he should be a focal point and lead the press.

He won`t be a prolific goal scorer and isn`t worth £65m, but he could make the team better. I can see him scoring around the 15 goal mark for the season, hopefully.

I'd imagine the truth is more about the wages toney was demanding.

I actually don't know understand why we payed £65m for any striker when we can't even play a game with the striker being a focal point.

More crosses into the box?? I haven't seen many direct balls or playing into a striker, we have been woeful.

We pay more than 150k to our top players.

He reportedly wanted over 300k so glad we wouldn't pay that.
