Probably one game sidelined.
Oh good, you had me worried there Batty.
Is wober even around still?
He's around. On a medical bed.
"We have a few injury updates and problems from this week. Manor Solomon is out for this game, he has some problems with his hamstring so he will definitely miss out this game. We hope to have him back for the last game before the international break.
"Daniel James is still out and should be back after the international break, but if he can come back before that then it would be a bonus.
"Max Wober will also miss this game. He still has some ongoing problems with his knee and our medical department keeps trying. We need to make a decision in the next days if he can't return to team training, then he may need to have surgery and if that's the case then he will miss a few weeks.
"In addition to that we had a few problems after the last game. Pascal Struijk is having problems with his adductors. Junior Firpo had some problems and didn't train at the start of this week but he trained today, so if the body doesn't react badly he will be okay. Patrick Bamford also missed training after taking a hit on Tuesday, but he was back in training today.
"The biggest question mark is Struijk because he didn't train today. If he is going to be available on Saturday then he must train tomorrow in the final session, so we hope he will be able to train tomorrow and then play."
He didn't say he's 100% certainly out and will assess tomorrow and is dependent on him training tomorrow but it looks likely he will be out however that would mean Ampadu covering and of course Ao starting so we have cover.
Would you risk him Dennis? Notsure I would.
Greatest squad ever built at this level are medical crocks.

I'm presuming you are referring to Struijk there rather than Ampadu dropping back to CB and risking Tanaka or Rothwell in midfield. I have a bit of a bad back myself and am being cautious with my training to prevent the injury becoming worse and affecting my back and legs. Haven't been for a run or swim all week. So I probably wouldn't risk it. They have some great painkillers over here, maybe I should send them to Pascal.
Anyway Farke mentioned Debayo in the press conference, just looked, he can play on the same side as Struijk but he is right footed, I know Ampadu is as well but is that a risk worth taking?
Wouldn't have played Solomon anyway. Ramazani earned another start. Could play Amps at the back with Rodon and bring Tanaka in alongside Gruev.
Might be Tanaka's best chance at a start.
Which means the football handbrake will start Rothwell.

I wasn't too confident of a Leeds victory before the Struiyk news but that line up fills me with a lot more optimism of 3 points now.
I personally think an Amps and Rodon central defensive
partnership is our best option and brings out the best in
both players while unfortunately I think Struiyk complicates matters even though he has been our best defender this season but like last season the enforced injury to Struiyk and subsequent long absence did coincide with our impressive long undefeated run and solid defensive record up until the last few games.
I'll predict another 2 nil win to Leeds on Saturday and I just hope DF sticks to that lineup for the forceeable because for me even with Farke's strange substitutions that team gets at least 8 points from the next 4 maybe even 10 but we shall see.

Last season we took most of our points in the period when Bamford was fully fit.
I'm not sure Bamford and fully fit should be linked in the same sentence ............
Wow, season has only just started and we already seem to have half or even more of a team missing with some injury or another. Re the defence did we not hear that Rodon was carrying some sort of injury recently hence why he had not been his usual reliable self?
Heaven help us when the games start coming thick and fast and the cold weather kicks in!
A few clubs finding injuries an issue now. Too many games!
Nature of the Championship.
That's why it makes me laugh when before a ball
is kicked, some declare this season will be a piece
of p 1 zs cake walk. It never is. There's always
that surprise team. The relegated teams. And the
heavily backed team that flops. Toughest division
to get out of. That's why squad building is so key.
Sign crocks and you get absentees during the season.
Doesn't matter how highly rated they are.
One silver lining from the injuries:
Farke has to rotate his squad. Which he hates doing.
But now has absolutely no choice. We might see Tanaka start in 2024.
Jack Charlton played 403 top flight games in 8 seasons. Just to emphasise, that’s 50+ games per season for 8 years in a row and there were many other players who did similar. I wonder how many of the current crop of prima-donnas could do that.

Quite alot do it actually.
The pace of the game is on a completely different level.
π yep, of course. But I’d wager that the professional footballer of today is more athletic and fitter than those of previous eras plus they’ll be on a better diet, have significantly better sports medicine/procedures and have significantly more comfortable lives than those of the past.
Anyway, my point is really (and I should have made this clear) is that after just half a dozen games of the new season, it doesn’t make sense to blame the number of games being played. Maybe make that point next March/April, but not now.

The point is they are not tired because they have played
just six games. They are tired because some players, are virtually playing for 48 weeks solid, with only a small window to recuperate.
Its not good for the game, you want to see the players in the best possible shape.
