It's genuinely a possibility we could get dragged into the bottom 6.
We don't defend well, we can't control a midfield and we don't score goals. It's not a recipe for success.
He's a shocking coach. His tactics just don't work and he carries on doing the same thing.
Honestly, it doesn't matter what is released to the press, results will determine how long he stays. It wouldn't take much for a few more bad results and the narrative would say 'after discussions with ETH etc, by mutual consent it is agreed that he should go....'
I would be surprised if the board weren't ready for making alternative plans, it would actually be naive not to
Its easy to sack a manager, but finding a replacement is a difficult endeavor, for a start who in their right mind would take the job.?
We can thank Werner's wayward finishing and Onana's decent performance in goal for escaping with a 3-0 loss and not a comprehensive thrashing. It was the worst I've seen, performance wise, under ETH, even surpassing some of the many other thrashings. It will get far worse before it gets better but the big question will be when do the leadership hit the panic button?
I just can't get my head around how bad these players are performing.
They are all established internationals who seem to leave their brains in the carpark.
if an average man/woman downed tools like these wasters they'd be sack on the spot.
He'll be gone in the international break. can't see anything else than that

Managers have big egos - unless you are already at one of the really top clubs, you would interested, no matter how bad it looks from the outside. To have the chance to be the manager that takes Utd to glory - with the fanbase etc etc, that's just the reality of how it is, and there will also be managers willing to have a go.
It's no different to the other big clubs around Europe, Utd are seen as a big club.

I reckon you can go lower than 8th for sure especially if they keep ETH
Do big ego's actually win thing's,you have been there before, quality managers are in demand, and as you say the United jobs a huge one, so is finding the right person to take command is an issue, wish you well with that.

I really think Man United are capable of landing virtually any manager in world football (pep n klopp aside) they are still one of the greatest clubs in the world and they have money to spend

I think the very nature of football management at the highest level means you have to have a big ego - look at all the top managers, all friendly when things are going great etc, but when things go wrong, they can be right snappy etc . So they need to have utmost confidence in themselves, almost an arrogance, and i guess that comes along with the ego etc

Take the job and even if you fail you are financially set for life, ETH is on 9 million a year with a payout to match so even without his private wealth he won’t be crying for long just like Ole before him
Any manager with any kind of confidence would take the job if it was a step up for them.
I know the football can be a hard watch at times but Diego Simeone would be a fun choice. Seeing him go mad on the touchline would be something else!
The signings are the worst part. The manager is not only ruining your present but he's sealed your short/mid term future by sanctioning the woeful signings of average players he happens to know.
Read a stat today that Everton have won more points than us in the last 10 PL games or something, that’s how horrible we are now.
Can't believe they are waiting another 2 games for ETH to create more damage.

I did enjoy seeing Van de Ven speed passed the Dutch Dier yesterday.
Their back line lacks pace which makes any sort of pressing almost impossible because a high line, even mid-high, will just get exposed.
You could see yesterday that they held a sort of mid block when we had the ball at the back, but we then played through the lines and there were huge gaps because the back line will not push up. No idea why they brough De Ligt in when he offers no real pace.
Not sure how many tackles Urgate managed but he was chasing shadows most of the time, even 11 v 11.

I feel sorry for Ugarte - he's probably decent enough, but basically come into this team expected to be our version of Rodri etc but surrounded by utter garbage - not an easy baptism of fire

He came with a reputation as a no nonsense, tough tackling, aggressive defensive midfielder, what I have seen so far is a player who looks lost, ambles about missing tackles, caught out of position or allows players to drift past him with ease. At present he does not look an upgrade on anyone, long way to go but far from impressed.

Honestly, we could have had Rodri in there and he would have looked rubbish. We were so poor and Spurs were on fire, not an easy game to try and control. I fear that it's gonna be a tough few weeks ahead for him

To be fair a lot of our players look lost at present. When that happens then there are bigger problems.
We need a boost. Changing the manager may not necessarily get the best person in but it'd be something. This just seems like a long painful goodbye now. We've seen it all before.
It's difficult not to see how Ang has got Spurs playing compared to us and think, wtf is happening? Is their squad way better than ours - I don't think so.
Of course Ang is not prefect, but at least he knows what he wants and the players buy into it. ETH has got 2 trophies, but the league is bread and butter and this squad is just all over the place. Never has a season felt so bad so early on
