Argentina best player is the goalkeeper Martinez. He made 9 saves in the Copa Final.

We’ve also flogged the only player you’d think could help us switch to a more conservative approach in Hojbjerg. He probably didn’t turn to the bench because our entire squad now is made up of players that can only play one way.

We’re never going to get anywhere unless we address the issue at hand. Ange seems to refuse to believe that defensively we’re easy to play through which is mad. The whole world is saying one thing and he’s saying another. Generally speaking, if you have an opinion that isn’t shared by anyone else, you’re probably wrong.

Being headstrong is only good when things are working. When they’re not, it just makes you look like an ignorant pricccck to be fair.

Fridge the defending was shocking today. Brighton didn't really have to be any good. All they had to do was capitalize on Spurs awful defending.

Spurs should have won that game at a canter, if they actually had defenders that can defend. As soon as Udogie made the mistake for the first goal, the writing was on the wall. The defence just collapses at any sign of a bit of pressure.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Before today, we had the second best defence in the league.

The only metric that measures that is goals conceded but I just wonder how many opposition chances are being squandered. That’s the truest reflection of our defence and the eye test suggests we’ve been extremely lucky that teams aren’t really massively taking advantage of just how open we are.

Fridge is absolutely correct.
Sandy is a blind as a bat.
Yes, Udogie did make a mistake for the first goal.
But we have a manager who insists on playing a defense that consists of exactly two center backs, Romero and VDV.
Porro and Udogie are usually up field too far to defend the obvious long ball up field.
So its easy to split our only two defenders and get a goal scoring chance.
As long as Aussieglue continues to be a one trick pony we will be lucky to win games against good teams.
Sandy can continue to blame whatever player is on the pitch but its the faaccking manager that's to blame. Period..

Does anyone continue to rate Romero?
Yes, all the Spurs players do. He's their go-to man for getting the ball passed up field.
Yes, the manager does,...he's on the pitch a full 90 minutes.
Yes, I do...he's the best damned player Spurs has.

He is not Spurs' best player, nowhere near. Makes far too many mistakes. He is Spurs personified, has the ability to be superb yet makes mistakes time and time again.

Yea, he may be decent for Argentina but he isn't anywhere near that for Spurs. VDV is far more important (and better) than Romero for Spurs.

VDV is also an important player for Spurs.
Lionel Messi calls Romero the best CB in the world.
If you watch our matches you'll see he is the go-to player that the other players use to put passes forward and turn defence into attack.
Part of Aussieglue's plan I suppose.

No player is perfect 100% of the time.
Romero might be trying to take on too much. But he's Spurs best player.
