and you obviously have little better to do than look at random tables i'd suggest...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When you get back, don't forget to let us know when John Terry's available to take a deciding penalty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's the John Terry that won a shat load of trophies i'm presuming you mean
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How many for England?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Same as That Whole generation - none
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly - so what makes you think England would be any better with him in the team?
This generation has made 2 tournament finals and were an extra-time goal away from a World Cup final.
You reckon it needs characters like Terry to get them over the line, but Terry's biggest individual moment in his entire career saw him slip when trying to kick a dead ball completely unopposed.
Nerves of steel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How about Rio then
Same.
There's only ever been one generation of England footballers that's actually won anything major with the senior team.
Other than those, no others have come close to matching the current crop... so why pine for past failures? Just because they were successful at club level?
Terry and Ferdinand had at least a decade as part of a "golden generation" of England internationals to win something and failed miserably.
Shilton and Clemence never did anything of note for England either. Just to remind you, those were days when England normally struggled and often even failed to qualify for major tournaments.
Shilton's one big moment came around when he was already an arthritic dinosaur. His efforts to save Germany's penalties couldn't have been any more hopeless if he'd been wearing cement clogs.

Highly highly regarded keepers though which is so essential...like Jennings in a poor NI side...or Oblak in a Slovenian side....Pickford can be a serious liability in what's regarded as one of the strongest sides in the world (on paper)...& really should win something
Anyway...lets see how we go later...presuming Pickford is retained & we actually pick a striker

You're waxing lyrical mate. Neither of those 2 keepers is/was as highly regarded outside the UK as you seem to think.
