Losing players to the likes of Real Madrid is the reality of football. Prime United couldnt keep Ronaldo. Come the end of the season Saliba will also have 2 years left on his deal and RM are likely to enquire about him too and Arsenal will be left in a position of keeping him another year and hoping he agrees a deal or cashing in. TAA is possibly on his way there too with his contract ticking down.

What has happened more in the last couple years is players still holding strong value even with 1 year left. Kane went for 100m, Mount went for £55m, even bang average like Gallagher went for 35m when in the past player values have dropped off massively in the last year of their deals.

In many cases players are not irreplaceable. The very special ones like Modric and Bale leave a huge gap but in terms of CBs and FBs of the quality of Porro and Romero, they can be replaced. VDV less so.

I would like to see what Dragusin can do. I think he may be an all round better defender than Romero but Romero's use of the ball is superior.

I will not lose sleep over losing these sorts of players to RM. If there is one thing you can say about our Chairman, he will make it harder than anyone to prise them away from us, so RM may well prefer to try and get Saliba or similar, than try and negotiate with Levy

Enjoy them while we can I guess.

He certainly probably cost us 3 points (Arsenal & Leicester) and you could argue potentially another 2 points (NUFC & BHA), if he done the basics right.

I dare say the links are as strong as they are partly as a result of our struggles this season. We're an easier target I guess.

For me I'm more concerned about whether the manager is right for us or not. If he is then you can get by having to replace players, especially ones who many fans hold responsible for the majority of our goals being conceded.

I actually think he’s a better defender than Romero, stronger, better in the air. But Romero is one of the best cb’s in the league with the ball at his feet. That’s more important to Ange

For me I think Drags one of those who needs to play 6,7-10 games on the bounce gradually improving before you the best of him.

Playing here and there will ruin him. he’s at that age now where he needs to play consistently.

I think Romero goes at the end of the season. Said at the start of the seasonr he will be that clown rudigers replacement. No new contract and he needs to be sold next summer for any value.

We have undersold everyone recently even Harry so i would expect signifcant underpayment again.

Porro has been linked with a return to City which i could see too.

We are slipping further and further away from the top 4 so guess we have to get used to it again.
