He looks a bit ‘scared’… stage fright.
This could another scouting miscalculation into his character. Ability wise, he has shown glimpses of what he’s aboot, but we’ve seen good players go into their shell when they running out in front of 75k.
At this stage, we have to give him that time to grow in confidence and settle in, and the UTD faithful will give him that time, but he’s got to do better with the ball, there’s no excuse for that.
Has some nice touches on the ball but the prem may just be a bit too quick for him, time will tell but probably him being not the type of striker we needed is the real problem rather than his ability.
We're less than 10 games into the league, it's way too soon to make any sort of judgment. My question is what did we bring him in here to do exactly? The first choice 3 up front is still Rashford, Garnacho and Hojlund. This is a side that is not high on confidence or flying, so trying to make your mark and settle into it will be difficult, especially in our underfiring forward line.
He wasn't a big money name signing, more of someone who may improve the general strength of the squad without being totally amazing - it wasn't what we needed as such, but that's not Zirkzee's fault

.................There is ability there but he needs to improve massively........................
You could put 90% of our players as the subject title and that would apply
Still early to judge. Can he play upfront on his own? doesn't look like it. His best role is behind the striker and if Bruno cannot do it then most players will struggle. Plus Bruno is ETH's love child.
He's a really weird player. In the space of about 2 minutes he can go from looking like Berbatov to Bellion.
Agree there's a player in there - at the moment I put it down to the pace of the league, he always seems to want a second or two more than he actually has. Let's see - you'd hope he adjusts to that eventually, but not everyone does.
New to the country, new to the league, new teammates and playing style, no preseason, reduced minutes and still a young player.
Madness for people to being trying to make such early assessments under these conditions.
Eriksen has been written off over and over and here and he’s been very good in the last few games. De Ligt was being questioned and he was absolutely superb yesterday. Hojlund probably had his best overall game for us as well.
I think people need to relax a little bit!
Still prefer him to hojlund. The goals will come. We rend to make our strikers chances difficult and confidence can be thrown away. It will come.
It's still far too early to judge, just like when Evra and Vidic first arrived during the January 2006 transfer window and needed time to settle, back then there was no shortage of critics within our own fanbase, look how that turned out. Granted, circumstances of the team were different to what we see today but all players need time to settle. Rushing to conclusions about Zirkzee and Ugarte this soon would overlook the potential for improvement. Let's give it until May for a more accurate assessment when there's been time for progress.

Hojlund and JZ are two different types of players, but it would be interesting to see how they perform together. Though this is unlikely given ETH’s preference for a false 9, perhaps JZ could be experimented with in Bruno's role. In his cameo appearances, JZ has impressed, especially off the bench, and has shown moments of quality from the start in some matches. What stands out is his ability to find space, link up with teammates, and his knack for arriving late in the box. His standout performances were away to Southampton and Palace. However, his tendency to drop deep too often leaves the team without a focal point in attack. His chance conversion is poor at the moment, but the potential is there. One concern is his laid back demeanor, which can sometimes give the impression of being disinterested or even lazy.
