His stubbornness and the absence of any logic in his choices and decisions cost him the support of the majority of the fans.

Last seasons FA Cup was our most enjoyable trophy post SAF imo

Completely agree. It's just below winning the CL in 2008 for me.
And yes, thanks for the trophies Erik

I totally agree - just didn't have it in terms of managing us, but hope he does well for the future. No doubt the players let him down, but the buck stops with him.

An FA cup is an FA cup regardless and even better when it comes against those filthy cheats. Problem is that cup final has set us back another year or two as well so it's swings and roundabouts.

Shame he failed but to be honest it never at any point looked like he had a plan on how he wanted to play or the character to get the players on his side.
The FA Cup win was nice and a big surprise but he also got us humiliated far too often. Probably our second worst manager post Ferguson after Moyes (don’t think you can count Ralf).

Magic day, best since post SAF, thanks for that.
It could be argued that any other manager would have lost to City, due to how crappp we are he had no choice to play the tactics we did.

Like Klopp, Mourinho (with Madrid) and Sir Alex (in the two CL finals), Arteta has had the misfortune to compete with Guardiola, the greatest genius of modern football. If Guardiola leaves next year, Arteta might dominate the PL for years.

This. At Madrid or Barca, he would be sacked immediately after the 7-0 defeat against Liverpool.

Have to say Guardiola was playing chess while United were playing draughts.
He seen a big summer on the horizon, decent backing, a new manager. The challenge that could ensue.
Let United win, kept Ten Hag in post, watched them spunk their cash on the latest round of diddies. One defeat that added another couple of seasons to the United catch up years.
