Collins is a willing enough worker but it is surely too much to expect much from him at this level and at his age if operating as a sole striker. Where Yates HAS done well has been when he is close to other players and can link up with them. He looks lost on his own.

Until Brown develops into Didier Drogba #2 any centre forward will be living off scraps. Personally I think a back three best suits the players currently available. When Ozoh returns a 4-2-4 might be viable. Or we effectively abandon wingers and play a narrow midfield 4, say Kenzo, Adams, Osborn and Tommo.

Regardless of formation, individuals need to take better care of the ball. I didn't really like Warne's comments about the main problem being that we were not passing it quickly enough in midfield. If they all do the first-time pass business we will give it away even more. We need better control in my opinion. For me, our strikers are better suited to through balls than crosses. At present we are back to getting it wide and whipping it in. I would prefer holding it better in midfield and try to get the likes of Kenzo to pick out a striker making a run.

I think comments on here have been remarkably calm...that said most people on the moan in are just wrist slashers who have no concept of managing or playing...
