He needs a spell out to recharge his batteries, give Amad the gig
Game after game, he is the only player in our team who consistently gets chances. That isn't a fluke. His end product is horribly inconsistent at the moment, but if he can iron that out he's a 20 goal/season player, easily. It's worth sticking with him.
I don't blame him.
He's just not been coached properly since coming into the first team. He's stagnated.
Taking him out won't solve anything. Well, not for him maybe the side.
It's the same for all our players btw. The result of poor coaching and zero tactics over the past 18 months.
If in a goal scoring position you should always take it, unless someone else is in a better position, easier said than done.

This. If you believe it is easier for you to score than to give it to a team-mate AND for him to score, it's just economical to go for goal yourself.

This. I’ve saying it for two years now. Rashford and Garnacho are the only winger in the PL who are allowed to shoot systematically from tight angles. And people keep wondering why our strikers don’t score goals. How could they score if they don’t receive the ball? I was expecting Ruud to understand this better than anyone else.

How can he improve if no one tells him?
I have come to the realisation that Man Utd are finished for next few years unless we get rid of Antony, Garnacho and Zirkzee. Rashford has regressed massively into a non-league level player. Zirkzee seems like a part-time footballer.
I meant to add get rid of Rashford as well. Honestly he would struggle to play at non-league level.
He's so young.
Never ceases to amaze me that our youngsters will get supported for such a brief spell, only to then be name called and spoken about in tone like the op all too quickly.
Yes, it's frustrating at times but he's a kid. A very talented one at that. Of course he needs to learn, mature etc.
Our fan base doing it's thing. We have to be one of the worst supported big clubs in the world. We barely back our players through bad or poor form. It's easy enough to get behind people when they're playing well and you're winning but like all relationships, it's no measure when things are going well.
It's when the chips are down and you need someone to pick you up. That's when you learn who the vultures are and who you have strong relationships with. Our fans are 90% pure vultures.

If Amorim is going to play his preferred 3421 then Garnacho and Rashford are probably going to have to look for new clubs at some point. I just don't think either of them are good enough to play that inside forward role or the number 9 role for that matter either.
Hojlund may come good with the right players around him and good service.
Amad could probably play that inside forward role quite well but he's never going to be world class and get you 15/20 goals a season.
Zirkzee needs to get back to Italy sharpish and pretend this was all a bad dream. He isn't good enough for this level of football.
This is the most average set of United forwards we've had in my lifetime.
He was really poor today, however I don’t think he’s particularly selfish. He works hard for the team and he often chooses the simple pass when it’s the best option. Even on his worst day, he was a few inches away from scoring a cracker and winning us the game.
He’s 20, things take time and he’s playing in a really poor setup. What does worry with him, more so than decision making, is his general technique, it’s strange he’s able to score an over head kick and hit a volley so sweet yet he so often miskicks the ball.
We've spent 1.8bn in 10 years, including 600m under Erik in two years, and what do we have to show for it?
Our best player at the club (Mainoo) cost us nothing. Two of our starting front 3 cost us nothing either.
I genuinely think there should be a documentary made on just how terrible our record has been with recruitment. I genuinely can't think of a single other elite club with a record as bad as ours or even close. It's genuinely impressive just how bad it is.
Unlike so many that, in recent years at the club, have had oodles of hyperbole following their name, garnacho does seem to be the real deal.
It's no surprise then that twerps are suggesting he isn't and, also unsurprisingly, they simultaneously ignore the ones that are never going to be epl level players - let alone United players.
United are always going to struggle with crap like dalot in the defence and "not up to it's" like casemiro and rashford in the midfield.
Simple really.

The set up is an interesting conundrum. I don't see a long term future for Garnacho or Rashford in a Ruben Amorim team personally. Not unless he's going to rip up what's working for him currently and do something totally different.
Rashford and Garnacho can play much better than what we are seeing for sure but I don't think their technical level and positional awareness is good enough to fit into the 3421 that we can only assume right now Amorim is going to try and adopt.
Garnacho and Rashford should be starting together. It rarely ever works.
