Stats are good, but I prefer the eye test.

Don't believe what you read on here ,too many agendas
It's a results business and while performances have been generally not bad, results haven't been as good. If Ange had lost today he would have had the same 5 losses out of 10 from the start of a season that got Nuno the sack and Nuno had played Chelsea, Arsenal, City and United and never had any poor form a previous season either. You can sort of understand why people have got on Ange's back.
Anyway I'm glad we won today but we have to keep this going. Got to beat Ipswich and then it's City away where you just have to try and lose well. Anything better is a bonus.
For me, it has just been watching the same mistakes happening again and again with an apparent unwillingness to address it.
Obviously, just my opinion and I'm a nobody

Exactly this
Why on earth Spurs cannot defend their goal keeper on corners?
There's Rodgers bullying Vicario and nobody steps in to defend Vicario. The ref has to have a word.
This is an obvious management problem. And if the Aussie manager thinks its not important, then he should look at the stats of Spurs opponents scoring goals from corners and set pieces.
FFS, Dragusin should be in there bullying Rodgers. And its Aussieglue that should be ordering him to do it!
When it clicks it's great and we seem to have got things sussed at home, but away from home is still a real concern.
Hopefully something that can be addressed over the coming months.
The stats are a bit skewed because on the days we do get a win, we tend to clock up a lot of shots and score 3 or 4 which heighten the figures. It’s the lack of consistency that’s the problem. It’s a mentality issue for me. We don’t really have any leaders anymore so when a game changes, particularly away from home, and the crowd get up for it, we crumble. We have a young squad so we have to expect a lack of consistency. That’s what annoys me about Levy because we could clearly go out and buy a ready made leader but he won’t do it and Ange has pretty much had to agree to it. He’s already said as much.
That’s part of the reason why as much as the losses annoyed me, I was never on board with getting rid of Ange. The problem is deeper than him anyway but that’s a debate for another day.
I have to admit… I cannot see the downside of getting a set piece specialist for a team that obviously can’t defend them …. What’s it gonna cost 500k a year ?…. Just weird
Guys. We have a set piece coach now
Need to sort out the away form then we good.
I'm with fridge - mentality. Vicario & others too much focus on winning a jostling battle that the mind is taken off where is the ball is going and where players need to be to defend it or save the resulting header. Pretty sure there was enough of a push to send the ball skiting off Porro's head too but var...
But yes, more could be done to fight the antagonists in the 6yd area. Ref is always gonna protect the keeper and seldom is any penalty given when both sides are at it. Ange has this thing where he hates players getting involved and it rubs off in those situations.
We seem to be a different animal home compared to away and that’s a real concern, shows a lack of strong mentality to grind out results away, Thursday at Galatasary will be interesting how we handle that atmosphere, we couldn’t even handle Selhurst Park

Lose well at City.
“ It’s the lack of consistency that’s the problem.”
This is spot on by fridge. Under Ange and his style I just don’t see us being consistent enough.
We will always give a up chances normally big chances too and that will hinder us long term.
Right now I’m just really hoping the stars will align and we can get this Europa league trophy as that’s my dream for this season

Agreed
Really hope we go all out for Europa. Win that and Ange would be one of my favourite managers ever.
My concerns are that we seem to concede similar goals and don’t rectify it.
A late run at our far post always seems to catch us out with our full backs out of position and the wingers staying forward waiting for the transition.
A good week though π
