Yeah the ground was buzzing yesterday, even at HT there was a sense we would turn it on at some point. People belittle the League cup, but that win over City had our fans well up for continuing the party yesterday and once we got the first it was deafening.
As for Thursday - gotta let that game go somewhat. We’re basically already through and the Ipswich game is vastly more important. With VDV and Romero likely out until the Man City game, we can’t risk Drag or Davies in Istanbul.
Would be great to go above Arsenal 11 games into the season - some title challenge that would be

The reason I’ve not worried too much this season is because how Ange has approached the cups - for me that was key.
I honestly think we don’t turn that result around yesterday if it wasn’t for the feel good factor from the win over City - the ground was buzzing.
Taking the Europa seriously in the first 3 games means we can now rest players on Thursday with a loss not really being detrimental to our chances in the competition.
Ange has got that balance right this year.
Next thing is to get the away form right and we will be a very decent side indeed
posted 3 weeks, 2 days ago
Yeah Thursday will be tricky and we have our best two Cbs and other squad players injured and Son who is very fragile now
We have bit of a buffer now though winning first 3 games, I’m sure a few kids will play

The away form does need addressing. But in general not been to bad, other than not enough points.
Spurs should have won at both Newcastle and Leicester, even Brighton at 2-0, but for a silly 20 minute 2nd half spell. Man United was a good win. Only two really bad performances were at Palace, which they lost, and Coventry, which they somehow managed to win.
Just need to put some results with the half decent performances. I am sure they will come in time. Next four away matches
Man City
Bournemouth
Southampton
Nottm Forest
See how many points from those four matches. City will be difficult. Southampton should be a definite win. The other teams are in good form, but Spurs should still be capable of getting results at both.

Fair enough we had beat the minnows in cup competitions prior to City, but league form was not brilliant. Some people may have taken the anti-Ange stance too far but if people were not so convinced, then that is perfectly reasonable. It had been one of our worst league starts for some time. 4 losses - one a capitulation, the other we didn't even turn up for against a team who had not won all season. This following on from poor form the end of last season.
Now we have 2 good results, let's see if we can expand on that. If we lose to City in the away game soon, fair enough. Realistically though that should be our only bad result in the league in the next 7 or so games.

Yeah it’s not all sunshine and lollipops, but we’re seeing signs of improvement in my opinion. Our woes seem to be confined to away games - we’ve been the best side in all of our home games, even the one we lost.
Away from home we outplayed Leicester, Newcastle and United, we were great for 45 mins against Brighton and then were abysmal away to Palace. It’s this that needs sorting

I don't think anyone is disputing that the Brighton capitulation in the second half should never have happened.
However, it's how a team reacts to such a defeat that matters and we have (on the whole) reacted very well.
Look, there will be other setbacks this season. That's a given. But if the overall trajectory is upwards (keeping us as top 4 contenders) and we progress well in cup competitions then that's all that matters. We can't (or shouldn't) spit the dummy out after every setback

I know and most on here know we have won 9 / 11 ( and we should never have lost the Brighton game ) but why is this stat not widely know ?
Also most fans outside of Spurs, also didn't know Spurs are currently the top PL goalscorers and conceded the joint third least goals. Why ?
We are the only team across Europe who consistently beat City, but again this fact is never highlighted. The day after dumping them out of the cup last week, there was virtually no media acknowledgement of this. Just imagine if that was Arsenal. Sky would still be talking about it a week later.
Simple. Because the various media outlets and pundits continually portray Spurs as Spursy, defensively weak and inconsistent.
Oh and we are apparently the only so called big team, who has not won a cup in ages. The fact that Newcastle, Villa and Brighton, all media favorites, have all waited much longer since their last success, Yet none of this is every mentioned.
The fact is we are not one of the chosen few who constantly get positive vibes from media and pundits alike. It will always be spun negatively.
