Ultimately Kamala lost because of the economy. The stats that the Dems say are proof that the economy is doing better don’t really mean anything if the average person on the street is struggling to pay bills.

Percentages mean nothing to them. It’s all about how their pocket is hit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Being the incumbent has hurt them massively, as it did Trump in 2020. During times of upheaval, people are likely to want change. But I find it hard to believe that someone who behaved as he did after the 2020 election is going to be given another chance.

That’s people for you. If you think petrol prices will come down and groceries will be cheaper you won’t really care if someone was a sore loser a few years ago.

Add to that a massive misinformation campaign by the richest man on the planet and I guess this was inevitable.

And I don't think the US will leave NATO and people around Trump will probably prevent that happening.

….

He isn’t going to put people around him that will stop him. He has been given a free hand to do what he want without fear of criminal prosecution by the US Supreme Court.

I suggest you read up on project 2025.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Having read a little on it and reading up on other things, the US will not pull out of NATO. It might be bad for Ukraine as the US would prefer that to end and would ultimately sacrifice part of Ukraine for that. While the Dems may not be outwardly for it, there's been discussions about this for some time.

The difference would be how much of a role NATO will take in Europe. Some may have to bolster their spending again like last time. And even Trump knows that it would be a bad move for the US. Most likely they would prefernot to be the primary provider of combat power in Europe.

No he does not know this. He is the most ignorant person in politics. He knows nothing about foreign affairs what so ever. Or basic economics.

All right. I could be wrong about this regarding Trump. From what I've read, which isn't much, is that this feeling of taking a step back in NATO isn't just what those who support Trump want. They would stil like to keep bases and a deterrent in Europe. Just don't want to be the primary provider of combat defense there and also worried about their own fiance. So while Trump may threaten to leave NATO, the military and the industrial complex that surrounds that may not be so willing.

I heard him say the other day that they shouldn't call it global warming "because sometimes it gets cooler, like right now". If I see someone say that on Twitter, I know they can't really be taken seriously.

I've seen Trump supporters mock the idea of global warming because they had snow in their area.

They know pulling out of NATO will be next to impossible, the aim is to weaken and confuse NATO and other organisations that are important to the west like NAFTA and others. You will notice Trump attacks certain organisations very hard.

The already hit the UK and Europe hard with Brexit to weaken the EU. In all the helter skelter, Russian attacks in this US election to discourage Democrats from voting are going under the radar and not making the headlines.

From the outside looking in, it's clear there's a very long con being played here. I remember when Boris Johnson disappeared for a week and was found confused and wondering the streets after attending a known Russian agent's party. They have serious leaders like Putin while we entrust ourselves to individuals like Boris Johnson. Putin would never get drunk at a CIA agents party. He knows what could happen.

You can't beat the west militarily, you can only do it from within, if you can get to the people themselves.

These are good times for Russia and Putin. Taking territory in Ukraine, surviving western sanctions, armies of bots have social media banging heads, and basically having the west over their lap and spanking them well and good.

On the bright side the Mrs and I are moving back to the UK next year, so I won’t have to see his fat orange face on the TV every five minutes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He won't be able to pull it off but he will be able to whip the complex into line. Don't forget, the complex is only interested in money and will eventually go along with anything so long as their profits continue to grow.

There will be gradual haemorrhage of military knowledge and information, among other things, from the west to the East. All in all, the US and the west in general will be significantly weakened while half of them cheer on, and that's the aim.

These guys play the long game. Pulling out is too drastic and obvious and might even make the US more closed and less accessible to foreign influences. They will leech until everything is gone as it's better to take over and control your enemy's strongholds than to burn them down.

As depressing as Trump winning will be, I’ve absolutely no sympathy for Harris or the Democrats given what they’ve done to the Palestinians this last year and I’m not surprised if they end up losing Michigan over it. I’ve just seen a large part of the Arab community in Dearborn opted for Stein.

Kamala needs to hold the blue wall now if she wants to win, and at the moment with most the of the PA votes counted that is looking very uncertain

Seen some analysts saying she wont have the margins to win PA. Hope they're wrong but it's looking very bleak at this point.

You think it would have been any different with the Republicans?

Are you that naive?

Whatever the result, people just have to accept that roughly half of Americans are perfectly comfortable with fascism.
