I'll break my point down a bit more....

1) I am liberal.

2) I sometimes think liberals in media can go a bit too far with inclusivity and it becomes a parody. To me, that's cringey.

3) I am not the target market or part of a group that struggles with inclusive exposure on TV, so, while I still find the ad cringey, i know it is not aimed at me and other people might be glad to see someone like themselves represented.

They show Santa sleeping when actually they had knocked him out as there's no way he was gonna agree to shoot this ad unless it was over his unconscious body.

Strikes me as a little sexist, but doesn’t bother me personally.

I can imagine the uproar if it were the other way around.

Wait. I have just thought of something. What if these businesses aren't trying to be inclusive? They don't sit about having meetings about what would be the most inclusive thing they could do, to try and be seen as progressive and modern etc.

They sit in a meeting and ask "what is going to PIISS PEOPLE OFF and therefore get lots of attention?"

"Can we do gaaay santa yet?"

"No we need to work up to that. Like how Apple already has the technology for smellovision but they work up to it for like iPhone 100, with incremental improvements."

They look at what is going to piiss people off and trend on twitter, and they do that. Not in the name of inclusivity, but for attention. That is what the advertising industry is all about.

It's the perfect storm cos you can just say its due to inclusivity, when you know fine well your actual intentions.

As for the advert ..... as famous writer once stated ... much ado about nothing .....

Depends on the time of year. Summer, then often just go in sandals. It is -3 here just now and some snow so would not be against shopping in boots.
