Extending stadium capacity

Fantastic news if true. More to football than trophies, this is arguably more important to a lot of fans. Personally am sick of getting about 1 in 5 tickets games I apply for.

Now that Starmer has the keys to the biscuit tin, watch him funnel money meant for levelling up or other such socialist cause to his beloved - probably on the basis of tourism support, appropriately.

That does seem like a lot for 20,000. Is it going to be difficult work to expand it or something?

120,000

Imagine trying to get that into Finsbury Park.

Will Arsenal play elsewhere? Wembley ? whilst the stadium is being expanded or just close a stand and only have 3 sides open . This happened at Highbury during the 1992/93 season in which the North Bank was closed and only 3 sides to the ground that were open. Finished 10th in the league that season but won both the League Cup and FA Cup being the 1st side to do so

OP, where did you hear this news from?

Your roof is supported by the frame work above.

I assume that to increase capacity they would have to remove, raise and rebuild that structure to accommodate enlarge stands below.

However, typically, to increase stands you need more depth , so the footprint of the building will increase. No sure how much room around the stadium there is.

Will be very interested to see how this is achieved because it doesn't look designed to make extension easy.

500mil wtf building the emirates nearly killed you guys

After sacrificing trophies during the move and initial period at the Emirates, it makes sense to expand further and start the next stage now the trophies have finally started rolling in.

It make sense starting it now but it will take about another 10 years to do, getting permission to do this will take forever, the transport system needs to be expanded also.

Define competitive.

Only cost £390m to build the facking thing

Even taking inflation into account, they're paying just as much to extend it by a third as they did to build it in the first place.
