I'd give you 5 stars every time they're always excellent. It's not quite happening for Rovers at the moment and ,given GM has a full squad, some questions over selection. I'm wondering If he'll bring anybody in during the January window. Another draw though I fear 1-1 Sharp or Ironside.

I'd give you 5 stars too, Donaldo. Your pre-match analysis is always excellent and interesting and all the work you put in through the season is much appreciated.

The match between Carlisle United and Doncaster Rovers this Saturday is shaping up to be a competitive fixture. Based on recent form and predictions:

Most likely scorelines include a 1-1 draw (most common prediction) or a narrow Doncaster win, such as 2-1 or 1-0.

Key trends: Carlisle has struggled recently, sitting low in the league standings with poor home form, while Doncaster is in much better form and is pushing near the top of the table.

Goals are expected, with a high probability of both teams scoring and a total of over 1.5 goals.

Overall, Doncaster Rovers is favored to win, but Carlisle could capitalize on home advantage. The exact score of 2-1 in favor of Doncaster is a popular prediction.

For Doncaster Rovers, the most likely goal scorers in their upcoming match include Luke Molyneux, who is their leading scorer this season with 7 goals, and Billy Sharp, a seasoned forward with 6 goals so far. Both players have been pivotal in Doncaster’s attacking setup this season and are strong candidates to find the net.

Additionally, players like Joe Ironside and Harry Clifton, with 4 and 3 goals respectively, could also pose a threat during the game.

Isn't AI wonderful

Maybe we should add it to the DPL and see how we all fare against it😂

I thought it didn’t sound quite like you Nookie - no sense of humour. I have not really tried to employ AI and wouldn’t know where to start. I suppose we are a “seasoned” people and believe we have plenty of original wisdom and powers of judgment, the using of which is part of the fun of writing and expressing views.

What with dubiously qualified “Influencers” and AI, the young face a future which is frightening in so many ways.

I'll ask it to put in a few puns next week and see what happens. Scary in many ways but when we look back over our own lives and think what has changed and back to the Cuban crisis it puts it all into perspective. I try to keep up as best I can but the gulf between generational actions and thinking continues to widen.

Carlisle United vs. Doncaster Rovers: The Battle of the Determined!

Football fans, get ready for a clash between two sides that never know when to quit (unless it's the last minute and they're defending a narrow lead). Carlisle United hosts Doncaster Rovers in a game that promises grit, drama, and perhaps a few moments to chuckle at when the inevitable "Sunday league defending" makes an appearance.

Carlisle, sitting comfortably... well, sort of comfortably, mid-table, will be keen to turn Brunton Park into a fortress. Their fans will be hoping for sharp attacking play, rather than nervy hoof-ball. Meanwhile, Doncaster will arrive determined to spoil the party, especially with their away fans ready to sing loud enough to drown out the Cumbrian sheep!

Both sides have shown flashes of brilliance this season but have also been as consistent as British weather. Carlisle will look to their midfield engine room to control the tempo, while Doncaster will likely fancy their chances on the break, aiming to unleash their pace down the wings.

Will this be a tactical chess match or 90 minutes of "kick it long and hope"? Either way, football is the winner. Just don’t blink – you might miss the rare moment of magic amidst the hustle and bustle!

Prediction: A 2-1 scoreline… to someone.

The AI version with humour!

I can't see Donaldo being out of a job just yet

So, is “Football fans get ready…” AI too Nookie? If so, it’s not very accurate having misplaced Carlisle in mid-table. Nor do I really recognise the accuracy of some of the content.

Yes it's all AI so it does have limitations! You don't!

I was going to say 2-1 to the Rovers, but will up that to 3-1. Clifton to score the first if he starts, otherwise Kelly. If neither starts, who knows!!!

Donaldo 5 - 0 AI

As for the match, I'll also go 3-1 to Rovers. Ironside to score first if he starts. Otherwise Sharp.
Conditions could play a part though so who knows?

The weather should ease a bit for the game
Carlisle 0-2 Rovers
Sharp to score âš½

Much of the same. Something needs to change.

Well, AI was wrong, but then, so were the rest of us. I was wondering whether to put AI in the DPL!

The match was disappointing and there seemed insufficient endeavour, particularly in the first half. There was also some irresponsible behaviour with bookings that were inexcusable.

McCann is indecisive; he’s constantly changing the line-up and dropping players and putting ineffectual players like Sbarra and Yeboah on who fail to add strength.

Sharp is becoming a luxury around which we have to build plans with not a lot of reward.

We may well hit the headlines next Sunday for all the wrong reasons.

I was so disgusted with the first half performance that I stopped watching. Donaldo summed it up with "lack of endeavor".
Really, Carlisle should have been out-of-sight by halftime as our defence was showing its old weakness that had disappeared of late.
I thought McGrath's first yellow a little harsh as the Carlisle player just ran into him. He should realize that any sliding tackle is a problem even if you get the ball first but also take the player. If that had been the case in the early 1950s, some games would not have full teams playing at the end! Not that there were yellow cards in the dark ages.
Having watched the highlights it seems we were a little better in the second half, and as some say their GK saved them, but so did TS-L save us at the end!
I'm not looking forward to to what may happen next Sunday.
To me, at least Saturday was saved by Arsenal winning (I watched after turning off the Rovers), and Spurs taking Man City apart. I've not enjoyed watching an EPL game so much for a long time as that one.
Of course, Liverpool gave me a scare against my "other team", but luckily made it in the end.
Can Liverpool win at Anfield next Sunday!!!!

Before Yellow Cards the crowd would shout "Tek 'is name ref!". What happened to names that were taken, who knows? I suppose you might add that if anyone did anything serious enough to get sent off, it was unlikely that whoever he had seriously injured to deserve it would be able to take an entirely effective part in the rest of the game anyway.

Rhythmical shouting like "Off, Off, Off", was the sort of chant that we used as children in the playground along with phrases like "you don't gerrit do yer!". Now such banal language is what adults use as they seek popularity. (David Cameron "I get it!" - circa 2012).

No one in authority used to seek to identify with my generation when we were young and I don't think we expected it, - indeed, I'm not sure that it would have been wise - but then of course we didn't get the vote until we had been out in the real world for a few years.

Not that I'm prejudiced!
