Could you glory hunting cants and your clubs just go join a euro super league please.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The PL is world football's de facto super league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
7/32 CL winners in it's history suggests otherwise.

You seem to be overlooking the fact that I made that claim only as a means to make a cheap dig at Wolves.

The super league is Barcelona and Real Madrid. Just about any legend of the game goes through either club

Shame on the clubs who supported City. Completely out of touch with reality
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Villa may as well be a part of the City group now. Their owner just accepted 2.3bn investment from Abu Dhabi.

Laughable.

Do you have a link that I can peruse?

Just found some sort of the story.

It certainly is laughable.

Might be worth at least waiting til the tribunal before saying that!

What makes me laugh even more is earlier this week a company in Abu Dhabi who City's chairman, Kaldoon Al Mubarak, is the CEO of gave Aston Villa's owner a 2.3bn investment into their overall fund.

-------------------------------------------------------------

I should be cautious about drawing straight lines of causation between investments made by Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund and Aston Villa's stance in this vote. $2.3bn is orders of magnitude greater than the amount invested in buying City and I guess close to the total investment made in the club over the years of ownership. The fund exists above all to generate returns, and it's fanciful to imagine that it would put that kind of cash into an investment fund with the motivation of securing some kind of quid pro quo from Aston Villa. Particularly as Wes Edens is co-owner of Villa.

This is desperately unfair on City. The market rate is whatever people are prepared to pay and they negotiated long and hard to secure for £500m per year sponsorship of block B, mens toilets, cubicle 4.

Announcing pep has signed a 2 year deal the days before this announcement seems awfully convenient now.

This is getting very daft now, what do you think this announcement actually is?!

It’s the PL having to implement several changes to their laws in an attempt to make them lawful due to City showing the existing rules were unlawful. The tribunal may yet also decide even the new rules they’ve put in are unlawful too.

This idea it’s a defeat or something City would even be that bothered about is a very odd narrative. They’ll be more interested in the tribunal but even if they deem the new rules lawful, that’s still ok for City as it’s reverted back to 2021 rules anyway.
