Miles off it just now with no fresh investment coming soon. Building a solid base is better than getting in another dafty who thinks he's got all the answers and starts paying 3/4m for duds from across Europe when there are better players here for a fraction of the cost.

That's my point. They appoint McInnes he will be there for 3 years. He will not be the manager to challenge for the title.

Gerrard took a few seasons and no crowds. Celtic had decent players when we lost the league but the set up, style of play and player management was a shambles. Ange needed the January transfer window to help set his style but you could see it coming.

Rangers appointing a manager with a track record of winning will give them a chance. Clement on paper was that guy but ultimately he is a riot

Not sure I can remember a team with a limited budget against a team with a much bigger one doing the kind of turnaround in one summer we would need to win the league.

Certainly not happened in Scotland in my lifetime.

All it would take is for rodgers to leave and the next guy to not be upto it.

Even last season rangers ran us close.

Football changes so quickly, just ask Man city.

Don't disagree. Our biggest challenge was going to be if we played the same turgid football that we did last season. Yes we have had the occassional game but I have been pleasantly suprised at the level of football we have played. That gives me good confidence.

I agree that I can't see Aberdeen sustaining their good levels all season. We just can't afford to be complacent

and by complacent I mean thinking starting Ralston, Yang, Palma and Forrest in the same game and thinking we will still win comfortably


Though by the looks of it Palma is trying to force a move
