I think time has caught up with that squad finally. Yes City had injuries, so did Spurs - our first choice CB’s and our first choice CM.
But yesterday, Walker, KDB and Gundogan looked ancient - this surely has to be the last year for all 3 - but my word, that’s is incredibly difficult to replace, KDB is possibly irreplaceable.
Gvardiol - massively overrated in my opinion. Pre City I thought this guy was the nuts, I was wrong, he lacks pace and never looks comfortable on the ball - horrible performance yesterday.
Rico Lewis - I don’t get the hype, he is Man City’s Harry Winks - neat and tidy, completely ineffective.
Grealish - does this guy still want to be a footballer?
The overall squad is tame as faaack these days, you take Rodri out and KDB loses his stardust and you’re not left with much - a top keeper, a top striker and an unbalanced defence and midfield filled with players past their prime or who were never really good enough.

Tottenham capitalised on our ineptitude yesterday and congrats to them.
I respectfully disagree with some of the OP's thoughts as the gameplan looked good in the first 10 minutes. We had our chances and blew every single one of them. Had we been more clinical, it might have been a different outcome. Might.
I say that because I re-watched the match and our midfield continues to be woeful. Not Gundo's fault but he doesn't have the legs and we all knew he wasn't brought in to play the majority of every single game. We all age, and surely Pep can see that. I just wish I knew what his thinking is.
First goal, Maddison just left him for dead and all Ilkay can do is point. For Spurs' second, Gvardiol did pass to a good space where one would normally expect, but Gundo couldn't turn quickly enough, and Walker was having a snooze again.
Walker's concentration has gone to pot. Who told him to start giving himself an extra challenge at the age of 34 by letting opposition players have a sprinting start these days?
The counter attacking pace of Liverpool next weekend will leave Gundo for dead in the midfield. With Rodri and Kovacic out, and if he doesn't trust Nunes, Pep should give O'Reilly a chance. Yes I know. If he has a stinker then we'd will probably destroy the young lad's confidence but Pep will have to man manage that. He wanted a small squad, and it's what he's paid for.

O’Reilly or White should have a chance. We’re just too light in centre mid. Also I was just behind Kulusevski when he hit the cross for the first goal.what a fecking crosser of the ball he is.
