i thought we would get the points. We are truly their bogey side

Even with Ben Davies instead of VDV

Hi Hounslows. I feared for Ange with the fixtures up until Xmas. But was well pleased for him and the team yesterday.

Past his best now.

Two crucial changes yesterday, Davies and Dragusin played deeper than usual. This was a crucial change given their lack of pace - Dragusin is a good defender, it’s just he is completely unsuitable for our high line.

Ben Davies remains the most underrated player at the club - possibly in our history - a hill I am willing to die on.

The other change was Maddison looking like he gave a schitt. He has been poor at times this season, culminating in being usurped by Kulu, but yesterday he looked invigorated and back to his best

I'd go as far as saying if Davies were right footed by current first choice CB pairing would be him and VDV.

Romero is undoubtedly an excellent footballer and brilliant on the ball but crucially he's at fault for a lot of goals. He could really learn a lot from Davies about concentration and temperament.

Not sure why you are fearing these fixtures so much Sandy, this is an easier run than the 12 that have preceded it. Liverpool are the only top team in the run plus we have our hoodoo team Chelsea, the rest though are pretty good:

Fulham (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Southampton (A)

Then in the cups:

Roma (H)
Rangers (A)
United (H)

I fancy us in all of those. Liverpool is guaranteed loss, not just because they are better, but because no 50/50 decisions will go our way in that game, they need to even up last year. Chelsea - honestly I’d take a 4-0 loss now as long as we don’t pick up any injuries.

Bournemouth is tough, I really rate Iraola, but we have better players and hopefully Solanke wants to put on a show for his old club.

Fulham just got done by Wolves and we have a good record against them, whilst also owing them for a rare slapping they have us last season. Southampton will go down with one of the lowest point totals in Prem history this season - they are an awful side, a whole level below Ipswich and if we just attack then then we will surely outscore them.

Roma are poor this season, 12th in Serie A and have quite a few injury problems. I think Ranieri will rotate quite a bit against us mid week - I think Ange goes strong. Rangers are terrible, the big worry is they sack the manager before we get to play them. Ange won’t want to lose that one, he will go strong and Rangers are honestly Southampton level - ride the atmosphere and we will be fine.

United - this will be a brutal game, but I reckon we might prevail on pens. Very tough match though.

Agreed, Davies reads the game vastly better than any of our other CBs. He makes up for his lack of pace by seeing things before others do and getting their first. The Goal line clearance away to Cov that ultimately kept us in the competition is a perfect example of that - anticipated that Forster and Drag would get in each others way, kept running back to the line and stopped a certain goal.

I would genuinely be tempted to try Davies at RB with VDV - maybe in a Europa game to begin with. If the alleged interest from Madrid in Romero is true, we should absolutely rinse them. Top player, but his concentration varies too much game to game

I've always said Davies is a great player , it's very rare he will have a bad game , my only criticism is his lack of pace , if he had Walkers pace he would have been one of the best Left Backs in the league easily.

We will lose to Fulham

I love the fact even after yesturday there is still a split amongst the fan base in regards to Ange.

Posters like Fudge who couldn't bring themselves to celebrate and instead issues warning about the Fulham game, shows we have some absolute weapons on here. Also, posters like LLM who have regularly called Ange tactically inept. Ted as well but we all know he is a special case.

All eating abit of humble pie and who are now waiting for the next slip up to unleash their "I told you so".

Big Ange In. Win, lose or draw. This season and the next 👍🏻.

The Ipswich result was a shocker but weren't Spurs in Turkey a couple of nights earlier? The Thursday/Sunday thing often yields bad results.

Mate, Rangers would struggle to stay in the championship with the current team and manager. They are absolute gash. If you really went for it you could do them for 6 or 7. Even the bears on here would likely agree. They are squeaking past the dross here by single goals and need 30 chances to put one away. The risk is Ange knowing all that and playing a weakened team for pragmatism and only winning by 2 or 3.

Davies best position has always been as LCB....not LB.
And at LCB is where he plays or used to play, for Wales.
