Hardly the loftiest of aspirations!!!

Not sure beating a team from Norway means anything!

25 - 0 and a Zirkzee double hattrick.

Reality - will be a painful 2 - 1 because we will start bright, then recoil cos the fuyktards won't run or follow simple instructions from the manager and it'll be painful to watch.

Ruban has a job on his hands but I like him!

I will defer hailing the arrival of the Amorim era proper, to the Everton game.

Seroiusly in all the decades Ive supported United this is the first time tonight that I have genuinely never heard of the club that we will be playing tonight, before.

That is where we are atm.

It may well start tomorrow indeed Robb, after a defeat tonight.

A team of eleven professional footballers vs a Lord of the Rings character and only score 4 goals?

I'll be seriously impressed if you had actually heard of either Pecsi Munkas or Zalaegerzseg before.

I agree, we will beat Bodo 2-0 and we will beat Glimt 2-0

You'd think so, but they're doing well in Europe. They've beaten both Porto and Braga.

It isn't as easy a game as it sounds. Any win today is all that's important, as are signs of the players taking on board Rubens ideas.

I'll give any major changes a good few months and at least one transfer window, I would love a win and enjoy a better performance but way too early for any massive changes to have impact imo

At least one summer window.

We've made a grand total of two permanent signings in the January window over the last five seasons combined.

Ruben isn't going to get specialist wingbacks or inside forwards before the summer at the earliest, and that's before we look at luxuries like another nine and the additional CBs he'll need.

A polished performance, with creativity and a clinical touch in front of goal, will do for me. Considering the opposition, a 5-0 prediction appears reasonable.

At this stage in the process, I'd be happy with a scrappy one-goal win, no new injuries, and game time for those starting to get back up to speed (the likes of Shaw, Mount, Martinez, dare I say Malacia).

Rosso is the voice of reason, reducing our idealistic predictions and bringing them back down to earth! 😔

I have a feeling in my bones

It really could be an itch you should scratch...

But yea, we could knock them out today but it will be false dawn if it happens. Hope game, new manager...

Btw, does anyone doubt we would have probably won on sunday and definitely today if Ruud was our manager? Not missing him or anything but continuity would have served us a lot more resultswise.

Depends what people are more bothered about: winning a few more games here and there short-term, or making the big changes (and accepting the associated costs) that have been long needed to bring the club up to date.

That's what I meant to say you're right, the players required will need to be brought in if poss and Jan isn't the time

We've certainly given Ruben a tough start to the job looking at our fixtures

We all recognise the massive job Amorim has and that real progress will take time. But at the same time, there are certain games we should be winning and this is one of them. Once again it's the fine line of balancing progress on the pitch performance-wise, with the acceptance that results may not be ideal, but you just can't totally ignore the results.

Ideally I would like us to win fairly comfortably, with little signs of Amorim's influence, but obviously not completely brilliant so that fans don't get carried away.

Bodo Glimt go into the final day of their domestic season at the weekend as league leaders and champions elect. They won't be mugs.

We lost to the Danish champions last year let's not forget and only just beat them at home too due to a late penalty save.

Manchester is the place to come for an away day Beano for travelling fans these days. Take the City centre bars, get bladdered, march to the ground, out-sing the natives all game, see your team win, get locked in for an hour after the end and then fack off home.

As above, they've already beaten both Braga and Porto this Europa campaign.
