Man City?

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/01/26/postecoglou-tottenham-dark-horse-replace-guardiola-man-city/

This the Telegraph reporting it earlier this year. Pep rates Ange alot, that should tell you something too.

Villa, Newcastle, Brighton and Forest(above us the league) would all easily take him too.

But as I said earlier, it's all about timing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Excellent, thank you, although, if you think Man City would even remotely be interested in Ange, it means all your future admissions to this site should take that into consideration.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Backed up with evidence from a top tier source.

You probably take Boy Hotspur as gospel 🤢
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Look, you think Man City would want Ange.

There is nothing left to add. It is your opinion based on your football knowledge and expertise. I can add nothing to that which is not already clear.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It doesn't matter what I think. I have answered your question with evidence. If you choose to ignore the evidence, that's a you problem.

Remember when you called BJ a hindrance and he then went on to score in the next 6 games?

Made a right mug of yourself as usual 😂

'The hindrance scores again'
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I have been critical of BJ. I have called him our own Raheem Sterling.

He can't really dribble, not a great crosser, but his pace can be an asset if he times his runs into the box for many a two yard goal. In the right system, this could be a great asset for a team.

If you don't play to those parameters, he isn't much use. If you disagree with that, feel free to debate it, but I stand by it.

I mean he is our top goal scorer in all comps 😂. Are you ok? Keep up son.

Night night sweet chops

Ange in. Three more windows 👍🏻. Weird question anyway, when he is our manager and ain't going anywhere anytime soon.

posted 2 days, 9 hours ago

Also, just looked at your evidence lol, an article written 11 months ago.

I think a little water has gone under the bridge since then, if you think they still feel that way after the 11 months we have had, you are welcome to that opinion, but is an opinion we now all know you believe.

Plenty of clubs in the French, Spanish and German leagues would be interested, as well as the prem.

All depends on timing and which clubs need a manager.

His CV is just as impressive than Poch for example, and he went on to manage PSG and Chelsea after us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poch got jobs at PSG and Chelsea on the back of what he did at Spurs. Ange has essentially done nothing with us if he were to be sacked tomorrow. I would genuinely be surprised if it resulted in him getting a high profile club any time soon, though Kompany got Bayern so who knows?

And imagine you calling someone a loser. You're one of the most toxic fans on here. I talk to you like a piece of chit 👍🏻.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Go back through the match threads. Fans like Fudge are basically highly critical after every single dropped point. Bed wetting every time. Seems like all he will accept is P13 W13 but would still moan like mad if we dropped points in game 14.

Didn't Ange just smash them 4 zip in their own yard with Ben Davies? That would have put them off. You're right.

Fudge, Spurts, Bake, Fridge.

Three of these are things you can find in a kitchen where Karen works.

Disagree, and nothing to do with the post, but will address.

I am quite critical, but there is loads to be critical about. If I say something, I back it up with why I think it. I don't just say we are rubbish etc. Case in point above with my criticism of BJ.

To suggest that anyone would only be happy with winning every game really is a bit silly.

When you see the same mistakes week after week and the person ultimately responsible continuously saying nothing is going to change, I try to be more demanding than just accepting that.

If you are happy with the direction we are going fine, I'm not. I believe I can see where this is going and think an earlier intervention would be more advantageous.

Palace, Gala, Ipswich, Fulham, Brighton, and it isn't even Christmas yet. Just need to add it is those performances and in game lack of management I criticise not the result.

Roma, why were our fullbacks not given any protection when they were being double teamed?

Take that City result out (I know Aunt/Uncle etc) it is Gala, Ipswich, Roma, Fulham.

I haven't commented on today's match as I didn't watch.

I thought of this question a few days ago and wasn't because of today.

Have you seen how many people refuse to give an answer?

posted 2 days, 8 hours ago

No idea where he would go but I very much doubt he’d get a job a bigger club than Spurs

posted 2 days, 8 hours ago

Wherever he would hypothetically end up wouldn’t have the injuries or chit physio team we have at Spurs. He also wouldn’t have a chairman that stifles or handicaps their manager but having a lack of quality depth within the squad. Or a chairman that doesn’t insist on buying the round of youngsters to eventually sell on a profit. Before they begin to depreciate due to contract length or age.

I’ll add whoever the manager has been at spurs hasn’t brought the success we have all hoped for. But with Ange he has been as close as of the last few bar maybe Contes initial period. And look how that ended.

I’ll finish with at least atm I enjoy watching Spurs. Win lose or draw!

If the fans all realised we have to back the manager and players despite the hindrances stated above. We could exceed expectations despite the club’s limitations.

So in answer to the OP initial question. Who really knows. Real Madrid, Man City or Accrington Stanley. A lot weighs on how we as a fanbase and club continue to support him and what trajectory he leads this team to.

I could see city going for him. His brand of football is the best in the league and it is an entertainment business after all.

When things click with ange there is nothing better

posted 2 days, 6 hours ago

Who would want our manager....is that the question?
I cannot see any Premiersship club wanting him......he's a one trick pony and all the prem managers have him figured out.
Fulham today were great at hitting our high line on the counter.

Must say Dragusin and Davies did a great job of holding the fort.
Ben Davies in particular is playing his best ever football.
But maybe some Championship club might take Aussieglue off our hands if we continued to pay his salary!
The guy's and Aussie anachronism from the outback. He thinks he knows it all....and he will never learn. Best to get rid of him at the first opportunity.

Top ten managers out of work now....
What managers are free right now?
The best 'free agent' managers right now | 2024/25

1.Zinedine Zidane 2021
2 Massimiliano Allegri 2024
3. Xavi 2024
4 Gareth Southgate 2024
5. Edin Terzic 2024
6. Erik ten Hag 2024
7. Roberto Mancini 2024
8. Sergio Conceicao 2024
9. Graham Potter 2023
10. David Moyes 2024

I'd take any of them over Aussieglue

Maybe not Moyes.....

Thanks Ted, but I didn't want this to turn into a Ange out post, I just wanted to see where people saw him in the scheme of things. For me, the fact that City got mentioned baffles me.

I think an aspirational lower Prem team, like a Palace, could go for him, but his lack of any basic defensive structure would see them at the bottom end of the division and then sacked. Then, possibly Championship or a weaker league.

I know that the OP is basically saying that Ange is not good enough for Spurs.

But who is? No manager apart from Ramos has one anything in the last 16 years or so

We've tried "serial winners" like Mourinho and Conte, but won nothing also.

We had a great team and best league performances under Poch, but those days are gone now.

I just can't see any manager coming into the club now (under its current structure) and somehow turning us into Man City (the pre-November 2024 version!).

Ange is being bold with his tactics and his comments in the media and I guess this give his critics ammunition to have a go at him at every dropped point.

The fact is that despite our current adversity with injuries and suspensions, we are only 3 points off the fabled top 4 spot that everyone seems to crave these days and we're still in all competitions.

I personally think the time to really judge Ange is at the end of this season, but those that are trigger happy should at least give him until the New Year before giving up on him.

I'm not one for arguing with my fellow Spurs fans, so I'll bite my lip and say that the question has no relevance.

I think someone else said it perfectly earlier when they said that no one would have thought that Bayern Munich would appoint Kompany after taking Burnley down. So who the hell knows which team would appoint which manager?

posted 1 day, 21 hours ago

Clubs I think would be interested in Ange... Man city, Leeds Utd, Celtic, Bayern Leverkusen, Liverpool (before Slot), Newcastle Utd.

Also it doesn't matter what his perception is right now. What matters is if we can build the right foundations with him at our club.

I hope we stick with the project and give the guy two more transfer windows.

We are far from perfect but manager rotation every 18months is bi-polar and self destructive.

Another thing... alot of ja 606 posters have a problem with his spiky response to the media. I read somewhere Ange intentionally does this because he doesn't want to appear a soft touch. He wanted to distance himself from coaches like Jesse Marsch (US) who were not taken seriously because they are not from an established football nation.
