Dion Dublin has a lot to answer for.
People claiming it was a fix before the draw, being at OT with two ex-united players. We then get Arsenal away while most others get home ties against lower league opposition
posted 1 week, 3 days ago
Well chuffed with that draw. Away tie was my main hope and got that.
If we go out then so be it. More opportunities to rest up for our late title push. 😂

Dion is an Anfield season ticket holder these days.

Might as well get beat in the 3rd round as the semi final. You’ll rarely win the FA Cup without beating the other big guns at some point.

Very true.
Arteta hasn't taken the cups overly serious last few years either.
Win and it's a brilliant confidence booster. Lose and we can focus on the league and Europa league and will give us a little more rest and time on training ground.
Rather have Arsenal than Reading or Wigan any day of the week. Bring it on.

We play Arsenal away, City away, Spurs away (cup), Liverpool away and Arsenal away (cup) all in the next 6 weeks.
That's an absolute brutal run of games for Ruben.

Ah well it is what it is....... Got to play them all at some point and maybe it's a good time to play them all when games are every 3 days and we have a new manager bounce feeling.
If we go out of the cups then our chances in the Europa are only enhanced so there's a silver lining. We will probably get drawn against 1970 Brazil though in that competition. 😂

An easy draw for us for a change.

Don’t think Man U fans can moan about a cup draw for a very long time - recently went 4 years without an away draw in the league cup. Last September Man United made history by becoming the only English side ever to be drawn at home 12 consecutive times in domestic cup competitions - the draw that finally broke that run was an away draw to League 1 Wigan

Didn't we beat both City and Liverpool last season to win the cup? I'm sure we did. 👍
Chelsea seem to get the best domestic cups draws. Seems like they get a team a few divisions below more than anyone else does. City don't do too bad either.

Makes for a cracking run of games to look forward to but have to say this random fixture thing makes me laugh. Our 3 hardest away games all in space of about 20 odd days over the busiest time of the season.

What an age we live in, Man United fans moaning about fixtures - growing up in the 90’s I never thought I’d see the day.
You lot could always do an Arteta, loan out/ sell a few players and then when one player gets COVID beg the FA to rearrange the match. Didn’t work out to well for him mind
posted 1 week, 3 days ago
You could do a Spurs and try and get a game postponed frivolously to ensure you know what result is needed.
Didn't work out too well for them though, they were knocked out

Not moaning about fixtures at all. I'm quite happy as a ST holder to get an away game at an expensive time of year. Yeah it's a tough one but that's how it goes sometimes.
What is slightly annoying is we have 6 incredibly hard away games in the space of 30 days with a few tricky home games also thrown into the mix. That's the unfortunate bit rather than drawing Arsenal.

Later went on to smash Arsenal 3-0 and genuinely saw Arteta have a good old cry post match - much fun was had

Yeah, UEFA didn't let you play because you tried to bend the rules.
Whereas Arsenal followed the rules - rules made because of Spurs may I add - and did nothing wrong.
And well done, you must have moved on from that win and gone from strength to strength

We’ve won as much as Arsenal since then, since you asked.
Back in the real world, what actually happened was Leicester had their Prem game against us cancelled as virtually their entire squad went down with COVID. The Prem tried to make us play on the Tuesday in a rearranged game before playing Rennes on the Thursday - would have been the second time in 2 years we were forced to play 4 games in 7 days.
We just sacked it off after neither the Prem or UEFA would be flexible. 6 weeks later Arsenal got a 4 month suspension of the NLD at our gaff and then blew an 8 point lead for a CL place with 4 games to go leading to Arteta crying in a post match interview. I could taste those sweet tears
