Sacking Ange won’t achieve anything but more pain.
Back Ange in Jan and see if we can push on. He’s working with a paper thin squad and has been unlucky with injuries. I’m sick and tired of constantly sacking managers when it’s clear it’s Levy that is the problem.
Review the situation in Feb / March and go from there.
No doubt the club will sack him, bring in Ryan mason until the summer (which is a long way away) and then bring in someone like Southgate who will need to rebuild the squad to suit his negative tactics. Levy won’t back him and we’ll sign Wout Faes to play in a back 3.
Rinse and repeat.

Surely you need to back Ange. I think from the starting XI yesterday, only Johnson and Solanke were Ange's signing?.

If Ange is still in charge in March, we’ll be languishing in the bottom half of the table. Unless of course, he changes his ways and accepts that his tactics will not work for 90 mins in every game. We’re so easy to play against and we’re so predictable. This cannot continue. Did anyone think we were going to win when we were 2-0 up? I really like Ange, but he either stubborn, naive, inept or all of the above.

Romero publicly coming out and telling everyone he backs Ange and his staff should be enough for everyone else to accept it too.
no one thought we would do anything in the league anyway, pundits or fans.
Judge Ange on the cups this year. If he pulls in one you'll regret the grief you're currently giving him.

Sacking Ange is similar to United sacking all of their various managers over the years, it's not fixing the actual problem which is much larger than who's in the dugout.
Aside from a few exceptions, Postecoglou has as much chance of succeeding at Spurs as any manager you might be able to bring in, these things just take time.

It's definitely naivety. He can stick to his principles all he wants but he's in the PL now. What worked for the Tamil Tigers or whoever he managed in the past isn't going to work in this league because it's a huge step up. Managers like Kompany found that the hard way.
Carragher made the interesting point yesterday that things like Romero doing the Cruyff turn near our own box etc. would or should be coached out of the team by a stronger manager, but you get the impression Ange takes things lightly in training, as summed up by his approach to set pieces.
People say changing the manager won't help, well it could do, couldn't it? Who is to say a good fit manager couldn't come in and get us performing the way we were hoping under Ange? It doesn't mean having to be super defensive either, we can still be more organised and flexible tactically while being an attacking unit.

I get Levy is the man to blame for this. But surely everyone can see that Ange is not working. We can moan about the squad all we want, but it's better than 11th in the PL and 9th in the Europa, even with the injuries. I'd even a argue some injuries are down to Ange's way of setting the team up.
He has been worked out, yet not adjusted to that fact. He will take us nowhere. He's worse than any manager we have had in a very long time.
He doesn't even get us playing attractive football. It's a complete myth that we are good to watch. Unless that means open on our fullback areas for teams to attack us. If that's "entertainment" then fack it.

And why just judge Ange on cups? He should be judged on the whole package. You can't have the worst league performance you've had in decades and make out it's all good because you win something, as much as that would be a big bonus. League performance is a better reflection of a manager's progress IMO because there's a lot more required from the manager, whereas cup success can be determined more on luck.

This is not a reason to gain job security and keep a project prolonged, however leaders in the team (Romero) publicly backing the manager after a bitter loss speaks volumes to me.
i get your position on the manager, but this is more frustration due to how good we could be rather than the turgid dross turfed up by the previous 3 managers.

A few would have had us challenging for top 4. If you look at the BBC pundit predictions many had us finish in 4th place.
If Ange wins a cup and we finish 10th it will be mixed. I'll be happy about winning a cup but you wouldn't be able to ignore the bad league season either. Case in point is Ramos, does anyone look back at him with particular admiration? No, yet we look at managers who won less than him with more, like Poch and Redknapp.
I wouldn't want Southgate. Even if I was a fan of his for England, which I'm not, the lack of experience at club level football would put me off him.

As far as I am concerned it’s “goodbye”. We don’t get the same guy that plays for Argentina. He loves an injury, a yellow card and a brain fart, sometimes we get the trifecta in one game.

Look, I'm frustrated with how things are going. I don't know what the right thing to do is. But I don't have alot of fsot in Ange and I believe there are better managers out there who would be doing alot better. But Levy needs to be the main culprit in fairness.

People say changing the manager won't help, well it could do, couldn't it? Who is to say a good fit manager couldn't come in and get us performing the way we were hoping under Ange? It doesn't mean having to be super defensive either, we can still be more organised and flexible tactically while being an attacking unit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This pretty much sums up the Southgate era for England yet most fans would also be against this too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In what way like the Southgate era?
And why just judge Ange on cups? He should be judged on the whole package. You can't have the worst league performance you've had in decades and make out it's all good because you win something, as much as that would be a big bonus. League performance is a better reflection of a manager's progress IMO because there's a lot more required from the manager, whereas cup success can be determined more on luck.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You guys should be accepting 17th place in the league if it means you finally get the trophy monkey off your back.

i think that's what's frustrating is the fanbase is split for all the right reasons. Just want to see Tottenham win.

Because no one assumed we would get top 4 anyway.
i still back us to be in the top 6-7 where we probably should be after all is said and done.
Ange hasn't gone out the cups this season with a whimper albeit has come close at times.
if he wins one but we finish 10th could you honestly say you would be unhappy because hes not "full package"?
Southgates era for england was quite clearly calculated and organised to the point he held back his talent on a leash to be used when he wanted and not when his players wanted. I actually think he would do well at Spurs but i also think Ange will do well at Spurs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A few would have had us challenging for top 4.

The two things are not mutually exclusive. We should be able to achieve trophy success while doing reasonably well in the league too. Not sure I trust Ange to do either really. As I said on another article yesterday, I would fancy someone replacing him to have as much chance of picking up a trophy, if that is all we've got left to focus on. Mason for example.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The more cynical Spurs fans will tell you that Romero wants to leave and this is his way of getting out - If Ange leaves then I leave.
As far as I am concerned it’s “goodbye”. We don’t get the same guy that plays for Argentina. He loves an injury, a yellow card and a brain fart, sometimes we get the trifecta in one game.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's definitely naivety.

Exactly this. Either the managers changes his methods or the club changes the manager. It’s up to Ange what he wants…

this says to me you want to come close without winning though. i wish we never got anywhere near that champions league final in hindsight but thats football and the journey was better than the win in my opinion so i understand what you mean.

Which isn’t true, Ange has won things and Mason hasn’t despite being parachuted into a cup final.
That’s not me being Ange in, it’s just your opinion on this is completely false
