Here's hoping people will start believing for the next game, its better for everybody's health!..
And how many are now hoping Millwall are on our side tomorrow?..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think it was pretty reasonable to have less confidence before the game. I don’t think any side has come close to testing us that much at Elland Rd this season. Was really difficult after we scored first half especially. But brilliant performance to not give away any chances.
That was a proper test and a great win.
Not going to be often that we need to be at our best this season at home. But tonight was one of them and we were great.

Give Credit to Middlesbrough for playing football the right way and not playing with 11 defenders like so many have done, particularly this season.

Faith, I wrote something this morning in reply to something you wrote, that wasn't an attack on you, it was only saying that I keep seeing these things written around the Leeds board, questioning the players when things don't go right, but then some question them even when things go right, and saying things about Farke, you know, the bod that has in 3 seasons in this league won it twice and got to the play off finals, he's the bod that put this team out tonight and they did what he wanted doing!..
I only said there is no reason why we couldn't beat as I know a very good Middlesbrough and start believing in what this team can do!..
Its strange the way some come on and bring us down before a game has even started, especially when the table says we're one of the best!..
And like I said, this is not having a go at you!..

Think more needs to be said about Meslier tonight. Many give him grief and not too much to do tonight, yet being that alive and sharp for that stop on Doak was first class keeping. Going down 1-2 at that point would have been an absolute game changer.

I know I know but I meant to reply to you before kick off but was very busy.
I wanted to say I still thought we would win. But knew that this would be touch and we wouldn’t have complete dominance.
The way some people talk about us on here is ridiculous.
We are going to win the league.
I’m not totally convinced by Farke though, which sounds crazy I know. I think he’s doing a very good job. But I do see limitations and tonight I was concerned if things weren’t going to plan he would struggle. However, after a perfect and dominant start, Middlesbrough took control of the game and we kept our shape brilliantly and found a way of hurting them on the counter. Also after they equalised we could have struggled to regain momentum but the press was excellent. And the subs were also very good!
Are there any players in that Middlesbrough side that would start for us though? Both Wilder & Warne were spot on with their comments at the weekend about us, and they probably know a bit more than Lowfields

Have to say I am concerned about Joseph.
I'm afraid if Bamford or Piroe had had the game he had for the first 65 minutes tonight, many on here would have, how shall I put, "expressed some negativity". Piroe performance hasnt looked much better recently, but he's been lethal when chances present themselves. But he came into the pitch tonight at a time Boro were bossing it a bit.. and it changed the game, significantly more involved than Joseph.
But Piroe does really seem to be suited to the 'coming off the bench' role, so I really don't know what the answer is upfront

Lots of variables in football, especially at this level where consistency is harder to come by than top of Premier League. So there is a chance we don’t win the league if things go against us. But I think it’s plain to see that over the 29 games so far we have been the best side by a distance.

Me too. We were saying before the game that he didn’t really deserve to get in ahead of Piroe but maybe this was his chance.
To be brutally honest, Piroe did more in his first five minutes than Joseph did all game.
…and yes - had that been Bamford…….
For me he needs to be used as a sub or start against teams in the lower half of the table. Maybe Oxford at home would have been a better choice. However we don’t see what the boss sees in training or who is carrying a knock or has a mild fever, etc.
As for Aaronson - we were stood in the queue for a burger, discussing the team and the guy in front chipped in to say he can’t understand why he gets picked. I tried to explain what I think he brings to the team and mentioned how much work he does off the ball but he wasn’t having it. I hope he’s changed his view now.
For me the obvious MOM was James but he was run close by Aaronson and, of course, our Japanese gem.

I’ve watched a lot of boro… they’ve created more chances, had more shots than us this season. They’re a good side and with a less defensive howlers and a bit more luck would be next to us at the top of the league. Ben Doak is the number 1 rated winger in the league in terms of beating his man. They picked latte lath against us because of his pace in transition. In games where they expect to dominate the ball, they play Conway.
For me last night was a huge test… because I rate boro higher than sheff united and Burnley (as a footballing team). We passed the test. It was James who looked the league’s best winger, not Doak.
It was me who was worried about wober v Doak. Wober did a number on him, despite paying left wing for most of the game. I was delighted that my worries were unfounded and have held my hand up for that on the wober thread

Out of the 34 goals they have scored, 15 came in a mad three game run.
So the other 19 came in 17 games. Once you actually drill into the stats, you actually realise, they dont score many goals, and infact nowhere near as good as what people think.
