It's a real shame what's happened to him.

There must be something up as he doesn't seem to be enjoying it at all at present.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I heard it said on the radio at the weekend by a journo that he's struggling with a couple of off the field issues.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Think that's pretty obvious. Guy is earning absolute fortunes, is in the prime of his career or at least should be and he looks completely miserable.

There's definitely something we aren't being told. How you go from 31 goals to the last 18 months is simply incredible really.

Badly needs a restart at a new club but again I just don't see that happening. Where are the options?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He'd have to take a wage cut and we'd probably have to accept a lower transfer fee so he can get a big signing on fee to make up some of the shortfall
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Which he won't do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think he might just to get a new start. Despite the fact he is on a huge wage, I don't think that money is his main motivation. We are just a club that gives out crazy contracts.

Yep

I don’t know why people always insist that players on big contracts would “never take a wage cut!” It happens all the time.

Mbappe, Messi, Griezmann, Suarez, Sanchez, Ibra have all done it when making moves in recent years.

Yeh, and the buying club usually gave the player a big signing on fee to make up for some of the loss in wages. Which they cover by negotiating a lower fee with the selling club. It is why we tend to do so poorly when selling players.

......................

I think it is because it is part of their doom and gloom narrative they have for the club and they cannot let it go.

Sancho, Maguire & Rooney are examples at the other end of that though.

It has been widely reported that Sancho took a big wage cut to join Chelsea.

Looks like he needs a new club but I don't see an escape route for him on his wages.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He will have to take a lower wage.

Player who move clubs do this quite often. Quite why some of our knuckleheads do not understand this beggars belief.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If he was to move he'd have to 100% agreed. He doesn't have to go though does he? That's why players have contracts.

We tried to force Maguire out on a lower wage at Westham and he refused to go is the rumour.

I think we are all in agreement he needs to leave now but I'm still not sure it will end up happening.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Took you a while to get here.

He can be sold. He is still better than a lot of footballers in his position. As of a few months ago many him defended him ardently, I'm sure there is a willing fool that will take a chance on him. May even step up with a new club. We see Sancho now.

But finally the willingness to sell him is key. We are no more under the delusions of his price tag, history and stats. We need to do this for Bruno too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We've had far worse players than Rashford mate. Some are in this squad.

You can give Mount and Antony another 10 years here and they'd not do as well as Rashy has at times for us. That's the difference.

However I will now accept that player is no longer in him for whatever reason. He's lost his way so badly it's actually quite sad to see.

No player should be able to go from 31 goals and 9/10 assists in a season to this so quickly. It's very bizarre.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mount and all the obviously overpaid players we are all trying to make it seem are still useful should join him. They are all products of a vastly flawed Management who keeps rewarding mediocre on the guise of protecting their assets. We have made all of them think we have no options but to make them work with the team.

We need to be looking at the players and what they offer not their stats and reputation.
