His defending has improved overall under Slot but you do question his attitude at times. For me he is the least important of the three whose contracts are expiring.
Hall of shame performance yesterday from Trent. Every other player were putting in that extra 10% after going a man down but not this diva wannabe.
In terms of next season, if he goes, he goes. Would still prefer to keep him but not with that kind of attitude.

Think he’s done tbh, he knows he isn’t resigning and his head just isn’t in it.
I think a proper RB could make us a more balanced side. Trent is a weird one, an incredibly gifted footballer that is yet to find his position.

He's definitely been better defensively under Slot. The OP is right though about his attitude at times, but tbf this is the first game under the new manager when I've questioned his attitude.
Given his contract situation and the fact he's a local lad, you can feel how this pan out for him. Liverpool fans are getting restless. You would think with the strom clouds gathering he would be leaving it all out on the pitch.
I want him to stay though, but not at any price. As good a player as he is he doesn't deserve to be on Salah money. However it really is in the best interests of the club toe med him I think. He's a unique talent, a scouser and is still young. The fact that he is able to walk out of the door for free is a dereliction of duty as far as I'm concerned. Hughes so far has done literally nothing tangible to earn his wage. This isn't his fault but he is the carrying the can. Fans will hate on the player, but others will question the owners and the club

I dont think the problem is with the players to be honest. How on earth can we have Trent, VVD and Salah all out of contract soon? It just makes it more likely they are going to walk and take a huge signing on fee. I was p:ssed at the lack of transfer activity in the summer and along with these contracts it seems to be a club isssue rather than player one.

Attitude stinks, when hes focused and puts the effort in to defend hes shown on enough occasions he can do a decent enough job. Even against some of the trickiests forwards. But far too often he just cba, plays like defendings beneath him, gives up easily etc.

Still gutted Bradley got injured after showing what he can do vs Real Madrid. How unlucky, the timing of it. Game of his life then hes out injured has to come back and start all over again.

I agree he’s got world class ability. But knocking off in a game when everyone else is giving 120% is unacceptable. And we’re not talking about something in isolation here. When Trent has a good defensive game it stands out but this should be the norm. To me, as also pointed out by most of you, it is an attitude issue. If you can’t roll your sleeves up and dig in when you’re flying at the top of the league then it’s time to go.

Trent is a ridiculously talented footballer. The accuracy of his passing, his vision and his delivery all add an extra dimension to our game.
However, he is scrutinised to an absurd level imo. Every player makes mistakes but Trent’s seem to be highlighted and used as evidence for the narrative that he can’t defend. He can. He’s very good at it. He’s been up against the best wingers in Europe in his time with us and has generally fared well. But he’s not faultless.
Every now and again he has an absolute stinker. Again, he’s not alone in this but how many players have a stinker and we see debates about their desire and their suitability to their position. Articles like this created. You could say it’s a consequence of his contractual situation but it’s been happening to him for years.
I hope he stays with us. We might be more solid with another RB but we’d be significantly less creative and more predictable imo.

i agree on the whole.
The diff between the 3, for me, is VVD and Mo are essential cogs of the Slot Machine. We really miss them.
Trent is a luxury item. When he is on point he can be awesome but when he isnt (yesterday) he is easily replaced as a defender by Gomez or Bradley.
when hes not in the team, we dont really miss him.
I hope he does stay as hes one of our local lads but not at the cost of a salah contract. his all round contribution is nowhere near the same level of consistency
