Spence has played himself into contention for a first eleven spot.
Maddison is alive and well despite Sandy's rubbish about him "being finished"!
Son's not finished either
Kulusevski continues to be MOM candidate.
Good showing against a terrible opponent.

Son should not play anywhere else but on the left. He is ineffective in the middle and his inability to hold the ball up hurts this system. Rather Kulu started in the middle if we don’t trust lankshear and refuse to buy a back up.
Maddison was very good yesterday, he needs to show he can do it every week. He is the first to disappear as soon as it starts going wrong
Spence was superb yesterday. Even when he got switched to the left. Just makes a mockery as to why we have run porro and udogie into the ground
Good win, but the big one is on Thursday.

Spence does seem to have found some form. He just couldn’t get going when he came to us (granted - on loan).

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He put in some good performances earlier in the season, it’s ridiculous he hasn’t played more
Spence had a well deserved start, hopefully proved he can be relied upon to give either full back a chance to rest and cover if not, over take them in the pecking order.
Bergvall another good game, solid at least and hopefully will have done his confidence no harm at all.
Gray, another good game playing in what is probably his third best position...although we've not seen him as goalkeeper yet so you never know?
Really pleased to see Alfie Dorrington getting a run out, getting back to the good form he had pre injury in the successful U21's.
Southampton were awful, good game for these youngsters to get added game time and exposure.....oh, and Will Lankshear (should have come on instead of Werner earlier on, no need to have Werner in the shirt again imo, give youth a chance for cameo's)

Agreed. Was told all summer by the levy lovers and Enic heads that we wasn’t signing ready players as ‘we don’t want to block the route to the first team’ of the youth players
Then levy signs Werner because he’s cheap. Once again making a complete mockery of the latest excuse why we aren’t signing first team players.

Was great to hear the away fans ripping into levy too. I’ve been on a fair few away trips (albeit a few years ago now) and there is no better reflection of the true mood of spurs fans. There are no day trippers or tourists amongst these lot. Genuine loyal spurs fans that travel through Europe to support the team. Probably the most affected by the calamitous decisions of the parasite

that's the sensible views Spence performance not necessarily Ange view
lets wait and see
sadly for Martin good viewing football must have 3 points with them...
Are Saints any better without a manager now? debatable as they were working on their brand and they'll just get someone who will hoof it forward and charge cavalry...like stoke city
posted 13 hours, 57 minutes ago
Maddison must have thought he was back in the championship, had a good game but as even Leicester fans will tell you is very inconsistent
Bergvall was very tidy in everything he did and Sarr was impressive too although they also had huge spaces in midfield, difficult to take too much from that game other than decent game time for those that haven't had much

A good and much needed win, but Southampton really are terrible and they let us play how Ange wants to which most other teams don’t.
------------
One way of looking at it. Another is the fact we only have about 14 players fit. Played a tough game on Thursday, whilst the oppo had a free week. Was easily a potential banana skin.

We have back up but it's just that Richi is perma-injured. Available for just 7 matches in 24 this season, playing about 180 minutes.
Having Spence makes any worry about Udogie being injured a bit less of a concern.

Nothing changes until we go on a consistent run for a while with regular decent performances. Yesterday was a good win but so were wins against Sheffield United, Forest and Burnley last season, in amongst all the losses. Southampton are 3 points worse off than Sheff United were at this stage.
