Was about to say the same thing. There were only a couple of seconds where Grove was undefended. Froch could have missed. The ref was far too eager to stop the fight.

I don't think anyone is arguing that Froch wouldn't have knocked him out at some point....but that was the first time in the fight where Groves was defenceless.

Possibly. But ref has split second to judge it. Imagine he lets it continue 5/10 seconds and he does some damage to Groves.

In that case he should have stopped it when Froch got floored. Imagine Groves had got him while he was still strugggling?

Also seems outrageous that one judge only had Groves ahead by 1 round!

Just shows how stupid/corrupt some judges are.

He would have had to be knocked down first. It was the first time Groves had really been struggling in the match. Fair enough, there was quite a long gap between Groves landing his last meaningful punch and the fight being stopped - i think that may have been the deciding factor - Not that he was in danger at that very moment, but it would have become dangerous because Groves hadn't been able to hit back for a while.
