No more than belief in anything else that requires "faith" rather than proof.

A lot of people shove all sorts of carp, prescribed and unsubscribed, into their bodies every day in the belief it will make them better, prettier, healthier etc, etc, etc. Are they suffering from mental illness, gullible or just expressing a belief in what they've been told/sold by someone else.
