I've postulated about this previously.
imagine a scenario, where it's found that peadoism is due to genes (which it might be for all I know).
the government introduces a test, whereby it's manadoatory for all children to be tested for the paedo gene on their 6th birthday.
along go mr ans mrs singh to the docs to get little johnnie tested
"don't worry johnnie. it will only take a few minutes, and then we're going to give you a GREAT BIG BIRTHDAY CAKE"
the doc does the test. looks at the results.
"im sorry to tell you this mr and mrs singh, but the test is positive. johnnie is a paedo"
what do you do with johnnie ?

There are instances where children who have been s*xually abused themselves who have pedophilic tendencies. A fair few can't help it and never act upon it. It isn't a crime, acting upon it is.

im not saying we should all have sympathy for paedos, but I think it's an issue that requires further thought than people just going "paedo paedo paedo paedo" as if that helps in some way.

The Louis Theroux documentary on it is really interesting and well balanced.
Interviews a lot of guys who themselves have locked themselves away to somewhere where they are away from any children as to not 'spread the disease' so to speak.
I think you will find that typically there is a correlation between pedo's and people who have been abused as children.
