you dont see people giving firedel abuse becausehe isnt modric, or lennon abuse, or sandro abuse. it's no more livermore's fault that he doesnt play like modric as it is any of these guys. and it no more makes him a bad player either. he isnt a bad player, it's just that - like everyone else in our squad - he just isnt the same type of player as modric.

well, we'll just have to disagree hengy. i can see an argument as to why there should be a more modric type creator in the side instead of knocking nediun range ablls out to the wings, but my view remains that that does not mean that livermore is not good enough ti play for spurs.

Nah you're wrong on that one he's ok but he's nowhere near a world class cm and that's what we need to compete we've lost one we need another to replace him forget about styles of player because Livermore isn't near top class at any style of play.

the only world class central midfield players spurs have had in the last 30 years are hoddle and gascoigne, imo.

the fact that livermore (like all our midfielders) is not world class, does not mean that he isnt good enough to play for spurs.

if we didnt have sandro and parker we would think livermore was absoloutely invaluable. the fact that we do have these other players means that we think less of him as a player - but it doesnt mean that he's any less of a player. he's a very good player, and better than most midfielders who have played for spurs in the last 20 years.

he should not be assessed on the basis of how similar he is to modric, just as none of the rest of our team should be.

if you swappedmodric in for livermore, i think that instead of dominating the first half against newcastle and hitting the woodwork twice, we would have just been dominated as we were at times in the 2nd half. we created plenty of chances in that game, and more often that not the reason we didnt create more was because of the ball breaking down at bale and siggurdson who had poor games.

in the first hour yesterday we had no end of possession, and knocked the ball around beuatifully. unfortunately crosses went in behind the striker the striker got crowded out, when the striker did get a chance he fluffed it, and when other players got chances they snatched at it.

none of that is lovermore's fault.

whilst i agree that we have played in a different way without modric, i wouldnt necessarily say we;ve played any worse, and if we have it isn't jake livermore's fault, as he's been one of our better players over the 2 games.

i agree that he isnt world class, but good enough to play for spurs ? comfortably.

That's rubbish bud teams don't get better or even stay at the same level by replacing top cm with the likes of jake, when Parker is back I fully expect jake to be dropped but even then that's not good enough to challenge for a CL spot

I don't know if he's quite as forward-going as those 2 is he? I see him as a more creative influence in the middle of the park.

i doubt we will see sandro and arker playing in the same side. livermore has much more to offer in all round terms than parker. sandro and livermore is much more effective than sandro and parker would be.

So jake is supposed to be the more creative of the 2 deep lying CMs? I understand you like jake but to rate him as highly as u do is either stubbornness on your part or just a quirky thing coz u want to be different to everyone else I've not decided yet
