Not huge amounts J. Stressful times at the moment mate, can't really go into it as it potentially reveals too much about myself. But it's sheet at the moment and this year has been a clusterfack.

Had hoped to get back to playing club tennis, getting back to things I enjoy and can lose yourself in to get away from the days stress, but living in tier 3 that's not bloody possible.

It's one thing after another. I've made a lot of changes the past 12 months so feel better placed to handle things but you sometimes think bloody hell how much more can you put up with. Luckily I have a very supportive mrs.

How about you mate, what's the latest? I hope the ECG goes well tomorrow!

The Oscar-nominated star of Juno has announced that he is transgender, introducing himself as Elliot Page in a social media post.

The Canadian-born actor, formerly known as Ellen Page, said he could not "begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self".

in practical terms, what actual difference does it make to someone if they change gender, other than people having to call them their new name ?

Page was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was assigned female at birth, and went by his birth name of Ellen until December 2020.

will a day come where there is no more biological reproduction ? where it is first made illegal in favour of some kind of scientifically created reproductive mechanism, and then hupersons eventually evolve until biological reproduction is impossible ? where there simply is no gender ?

I think that, given your real world experiences, you should be able to answer that.

Also as an unapologetically rude aside. I never really get why announcements like Eliot Page bothers people so much. Do I get it? No. Does it bother or affect my life in the slightest? No. Do announcements like that help confused/scared transgender people feel more assured? Yes.

Personally my life isn’t lacking purpose so I don’t care about these things that have no outcome on my life.

Is there any truth to the statement ‘top of Europa gives you an easier draw’?

This usually holds true in the CL - but I think the third place CL teams end up in either side of the draw - and as we can’t face an English side in the last 32 there isn’t too much in the way of good teams anyway?

All true and I completely agree - trouble is the prejudice exists and stories like this are needed to make gender issues more mainstream, cos that's the only way they become accepted and prejudice can be tackled.

I wish we were at the stage where society cared as little about another person's gender identity as I do, but I don't think we're there yet, so it needs publicity. I think it's a bit like how being "not racist" isn't necessarily good enough any more, you have to be actively "anti-racist" to make enough of a difference across society

i did think originally though that she was coming out that she was actually born a bloke which would have made the story a whole lot better.
