Ndombele is a really odd player to be fair. He doesn't really fit a natural mould as either an 8 or a 10. And for Lyon he used to play as a press-beating 6, a bit like Frenkie De Jong. I suppose Dembele wasn't a standard midfielder either to be fair.

I can see Mourinho's logic in playing Ndombele as a 10, though. He has the vision and passing range. It would benefit every aspect of his game if he could just get his physical levels up. I get the sense he's physically pretty strong, he just doesn't seem to have the endurance to run long distances or to get stuck into the game physically.
