Last night just told me i feel more when its club football

Im very proud of the England team and was happy for them whatever, just didnt have as much riding emotionally on that result last night as i did in Porto. Not really close

Yeah got a bit predictable what the outcome would be after 50 or so minutes

I don’t feel as bad as I did after the CL final in terms of not bringing the trophy home - I think some of the bandwagoning has put me off a tad. However some of the stuff off the pitch is the worst

Southgate had a great tournament until yesterday when his subs were a disaster

I hate saving subs for pens, he gets a lot of potentially unfair stick for being negative but that actually is

Also the Grealish sub didnt seem to come with any idea of how he would tactically affect the game. It was a pure lets chuck this guy on and hope sub

Does feel like England are continually getting better though

We were a step above 2018

My hopes for Qatar now rest on Bellingham developing further and giving us an elite presence in midfield

yeah im pretty chill considering, as this is a great group mostly young or peak age barring 2 or 3 players really and with the manager can have multiple tournaments together, increasing chances of getting over the line eventually.

I don't know the stats but bringing someone on with 30 seconds to go to take penalties seems like a bad idea

he had clearly already picked his 5 pen takers based on the best at them in the build up behind the scenes. Sancho and Rashford could have come onto the pitch with 15 minutes to go though.

Its not like we were playing well enough to justify leaving the players they replaced on for the whole of ET

posted on 12/7/21

Yeah I think they need a kick of a ball first and the opportunity to have a good cameo that they can fall back on so that if they miss their penalty it's not like they completely failed

They've taken a decent number of pens at club level and both scored for England in shootouts - they'd have been jn my 5

Saka taking one is still just absurd to me, I'll never understand it.

I actually thought England were pretty average during the competition.

Everybody else must have been too then!

He brought on Rashford before Columbia apparently - I don’t know what the stats would be though tbf.

The issue with Southgate is - despite it working first half - he forgot to realise that the team is nowhere near as effective without pace on the wings.

Getting parliament to discuss using ID for social media seems a bit futile, right? It’s not like they can do anything as it’s the social media companies responsibility?

Surely they can regulate them like they would any other industry, gambling or financial services, for example

Gambling and financial services are just limited to that country though?

Just lock them out of UK IP addresses until they comply with the regs.
