42.39 for 8K on the long course.

2 minutes slower than 2 days ago, but tbh that's still a good pace for me on a hilly course.

how i did that 33.15 7k i've no idea

ran 70m over today so call it 42.15

Phenom, do you think it's more of a mental battle or physical?

ive got a new tactic to deal with drivers who linger behind you unnecessarily.

if they hang around after there's clearly been ample time to go past, then i just move over and run down the middle of the road. did it twice today and both times they facked off the moment they got another chance to.

very good question, id defo say depends. one time i was proper committed and body has just said no

sometimes ive been proper cba and just been able to keep going physically

For me it's a mental battle to keep going. Not all the time, I tend to get a little birdy saying "fak that, just stop" right after I've started, which I have to over ride. Then maybe 3k in start to feel the pain, and have to push myself through it. Today at this point I had to promise myself that if I finish the run today then that will be my last run I'm not doing it again. Sometimes I have to tell myself that I'll stop for a minute when I get to the top of the hill (then I'll push it back when I get there). Sometimes I have to think of Lawrence of Arabia crossing the desert without any water, and how he refused to stop. I do have a turn of pace, but I'm definitely much stronger mentally than physically. I constantly have to force my body to do it. But I guess it's a mixture of physical and mental, because you're pushing yourself to the boundaries of your physical capacity. Really I'd day it's a process of your mind making your body stronger. But I will reach a point where that little birdy will win, and that will be that. Glad I've got to 8k though which is further than I thought I'd ever get

PART 1 OF 2

A 90-year-old former butcher has claimed he stabbed his ailing wife with a carving knife to “quieten her down” after she woke him up at night and started screaming...

He initially told jurors he could not remember what had happened during the incident.

But when cross-examined by prosecutor Alistair Richardson, he accepted he had gone downstairs to get a knife and “made my mind up” about what he was about to do.

Despite the walk to the kitchen giving him time to reflect, he believed the best way to “calm (his) wife down” was stab her.

He insisted his intention had not been to kill her or himself, despite the attack leaving Mrs Turpin with a collapsed lung and at least four stab wounds.

Now at this point readers, I know what you're thinking.

You're thinking, 'this isn't funny, this is awful'.

Well, all I can say is, wait for part 2

PART TWO (OF TWO)

Mr Richardson asked: “You must remember whether or not you have gone downstairs?”

“I can’t remember,” Turpin said.

“Well, the knives are downstairs,” the barrister said.

“Yeah, I must have,” the defendant replied.

“You must have selected a knife?” Mr Richardson asked.

So you're saying I should have strangled her?...“Sir, I’m a butcher,” Turpin replied

Dinner convo was good tonight.

My mum says that my sister (whose birthday's coming up) was saying to her what a shame it is that the family's drifted apart.

Then she says, "well I said to her, everyone's dead."

"My uncle's dead. My older brother's dead. My younger brother's dead. His wife's dead. My mum's dead. My dad's dead"

ffs
